Where could I find/read the history and developement of the VTEC?

As developed by Honda. I know it was designed and developed for use in F-1, But, wheres literature about it that is descriptive and thought provoking? Any books at the local bookstore or should I look for old periodical articles at the local library?

PS I know how it works and what it is supposed to do, I just want to learn how it was developed and at which races it started to shine as the NEXT new engine powertrain...

from what i have heard they got the idea from alfa romero or something

Try http://www.vtec.net and look through the archives or something. If not, send me an email, I have a link (on my computer at home) that should tell you.
