Yah I know this is h-t but I'm looking for a 1st gen rx7. Car can be rusty but just need the engine to run and drive. Not important on car's looks but just needs to run. Ripped seats or whatever I don't care. No autos though. Hook a brotha up! Check out your local paper or know of someone getting rid of one or whatever. Got bank so no wait!

 

What years are the 1st gen?
I know my brother in law has a really old RX7 with only 60,000 miles..... this ****** is mint. He's a lawyer and doesn't know how cool his car is. he'll if i new more about those motors I would convince him to give it to me. he's cool I'm in MN
the car is black. he bought this car new so I don't know if he's willing to sell it. No mods what so ever.... handles great and i've driven it only once..... once is enough for me. I did not know how repsonsive and torquey they were.

 

The first gens were 79-85, kinda slim and narrow looking front end. I looking for a older import and need some thing that I won't have a hard time finding parts for and the junkyard around here have a shitload. The 79-83 had the 12a engine and 84-85 had the 13b and the gsl-se had a lsd, 4 wheel discs. The second gen are nice but I'm just looking for something cheap to start out as a project car. Where in MN are you located? Twin Cities?

damn I honestly don't even know what year it is.... i wanna say 1986. if you post pix of all the gens i can point out what his car looks like. I know my hondas specs but when it comes to Mazda .... i don't know *****.

 

Also the 79-83 were mostly all carb'd and the 13b were fuel injection. Solid axle in the rear but so does the ae86 and look what those things can do! Just want something alittle different and I've got two hondas right now.

haha all you had to say was InitalD bro..... yes it is a MINT *** 2nd gen..... no problem at all. My brother inlaw is 29 and sorta old school traditonal asian guy so he's not into racing moding cars at all. I still can't belive it only has 60,000 miles on it, no rust...perfect in everyway. the only thing that anyoes the hell out of me is the marron intieror and dash LOL

If he did sell it it would no be for cheap..... he's taken excellent car of it and the motor has not seen past 3200rpms in load..... he almost pissed in his pants when I drove it that one time and did not know what kinda power it had....

yah this 80's cars had some weird *** interiors. Car looks fine on the outside but step inside and it's like damn! Reminds me of trying to dress myself when I was a kid. Hell in the old 7's the seats had vinyl side bosters and a flannel print in the middle WHOA! But Hell yeah those 2nd gens are bad *** though. T2's are nice but hella expensive when looking for parts.
