Default Recommend ECU for following setup

97' GSR

AEM CAI, Skunk2 IM, Stock Throttle body (temporary), ODB1 conversion, dc sports jdm 4-1, skunk2 cam gears, hi flo cat, n1 catback, vafc2

Its going to be turbo'd in the future, and I know a good tuner that can help me dyno-tune the car.

What kind of computer should I be running? (other than a stock p72 obd1 gsr)

Now. Your P72 is fine.

When you boost? Your P72 will still be fine. Just add Hondata.

dont use an p72, get a p28 w/ a chip or hondata.

If you get the p28 w/ hondata, u could basically sell your VAFC to make up more than half the price of hondata

*edit, and if you are turboing your car, loose the Skunk 2 manifold and sell all the non-necessary stuff now, u'll like it better in the future

Keep the Skunk2, why bother removing it?

Also a p28 is a good choice if you havent already bought an OBD1 ECU. If you already have an OBD1 P72 ready to rock, dont worry about it.

there is nothing wrong with the Skunk2 IM for turbo, its better than stock. When you go turbo, u just have to remember to get the IC piping for an LS/Type R because the TB is higher with the S2 IM.

let me edit my post, the skunk manifold definatly gives gains in turbo apps. I was looking at a dyno back wards.

Well basically...people like me...(read my signature), chip p28 ecu's to dohc vtec specs. Programs such as skunk2, mugen, jun, rpt, feels, visions, etc are offered for dohc vtec applications, for the p28 ecu. If you have any specific questions about the chipped p28 ecu, plesae feel free to PM me and ask. Oh, and as for your question as originally asked, i would run a chipped p28 ecu just because you dont have the secondaries in your intake manifold any more. Thats what the stock p72 ecu looks for, but cant find it w/ the skunk2 IM. But it doesnt hurt to run the stock ecu...lol, just pm me
thanks
Jason

I was thinking the same thing, it would run rich at 5750 when the secondaries should kick in if they were there...
