Default Everyone who is running, or has run DSM 450's

I am planning on running 450's. It seems the prices range greatly, from 50 bucks up to 125+. The more expensive ones tend to be sold as "cleaned" or "cleaned and balanced".

How long have you run (or did u run) the DSMs for? Have you ever had any problems? What would you reccomend, just picking up a set for 50 bucks, or spending the extra cash to get a set that may, or may not actually be cleaned as the seller claims?

i bought mine from a well known member on this board that had a couple vouches...he took them off of his car and i trusted him when he said they were in working condition...he ended up breaking one of the caps and sold it to me for 20 bucks but i never had a problem with them when i had them on my old set up...

i think if you can get vouches from people then get the cleaned ones...might as well start off and having that peace of mind...or if you find a good deal on them for cheap, then get them and have them cleaned yourself...then you'll know the condition of it

I have had DSMs for about a year now with absolutely no problems..they are really reliable. The have become a bottleneck in my setup though, so I will be replacing them with Lancer Evo 6 560cc's (yup another Mitsu injector)...but they are the best bang for the buck!!

i got it from a guy that just parted his dsm and he seemed like a trusting guy for like 55 i think. i smelled fuel on it and he had to just have taken them off. Cleaning is good but if your injectors are still good its a waste of money. Just a safety precaution, i guess i got lucky or something.

i bought a set of rebuilds from MikePalm on this board for $125 shipped and i'm glad i paid a little more up front because they were like new when i got them. i hear about ppl getting the $50 ones then having them flow inconsistently with one another causing a lot of problems. i suggest you dont risk it, but thats just me.

i had no idea the lancer runs 560cc. I guess that's normal considering the supra runs 550cc, and rx7 runs 550cc/850cc. hehe

Normally i'd look for the black top injectors since they are from the newer DSMs which means it probally has fewer miles on it. Try to get injectors that weren't sitting aorund too long. IT's not good for an injector to be dried out of fuel and left that way for an extended period of time. I got my good low mileage set for 70 shipped.

you had a boosted 3rd gen? COOL!

My eclipse injectors installed fine after I sanded down my stock injector bushings. I have the black ones. resistance tested the same for all of them using my ohm meter and they idle fine and drive fine with hondata set for them. I want to upgrade to some 550cc injectors for a little more headroom on my planned 250whp setup.

I got mine (newer, black top version) off a guy on a DSM bullitin board for $85. They do occasionally have the warm start problem that they are known for but other than that they are great.

I got mine off ebay for like 40 bux. They were in good condition but the o rings needed to be changed. Stupid me I broke one of the caps but it still runs good without any problems. Boostin for like 2 months now. There are some shops that will clean injectors.

got mine at a junk yard for $60 including a 1g bov and some pipes.
I sprayed them clean with carb cleaner and threw em in with a h22 resistor box. 3000+ miles no problems.

I wasted money on some integra lower seals. Just use the stock lower seals assuming they are in good condition.

I'm getting some JDM GVR4 510cc injectors for $100 soon, along with a 16G turbo ported 6cm exhaust housing for $400. I love having DSM friends, hehe.

I'm on my 2nd set of dsm 450's. On my old turbo set up I bought some used from a DSM owner. I decided to have them cleaned by RC and THANK GOD I did because 1 of them was SEIZED SHUT! It sprayed 0, while 2 others dripped, and the last one was fine. I'm DEFINETLY getting my new set cleaned.
