Does anyone know where to find a JDM B20 for a 3rd gen prelude?
Apparently the JDM B20 makes 160 hp, and if the H22 swap proves too costly, then I want the B20. Where can I get one?
Nippon Motors hasn't had any in the past 6 months, I've checked. The b20a5 is JDM Prelude, b20a3 USDM, and b20b is CRV. Also the b20a5 is 145hp. I believe the only diff between the a3 and a5 is the compression highth of the piston.
Nice job with finding out about this engine! I've never knew it existed. Where did you find out about it????????

I found out about it in another forum. The difference between the USDM B20A3 and B20A5 is that the A3 is carbureted, and the A5 is fuel injected. I should know, cuz i have an A3. Does anyone know what other engines can go into this car?
I stand corrected.
Unless you're comfortable with fabrication, no other engines will fit. Thats why its called the bastard b. However, I have found that Eagle has a stroker kit advertized for the b20a.

After some research and realizing that I chased my tail, I've come to this conclusion. The importers I've talked to say that the JDM b20 with 145hp is a Prelude engine but I'm thinking differently now. I believe the engine you're talking about is the same engine 3g Luders have installed into their cars. You'll need to mix and match allot of things thats not normally needed on a typical swap. Go to the first site for a detailed description on how to get this b20 usdm friendly so you don't have to import stuff like the timing belt. The other three are 3g Lude sites. I know UT-34 and Daily Interlude from Team Interlude did a JDM b20 swap so they'll be better able to help you. If they didn't use that same Accord engine, post back cause I've got some other ideas that could help you to swap that engine into the 3g.

BTW, the engine is 160ps. 1hp= 1.1ps making the engine 145hp.

This may not be much help but I found a JDM B20A5 on the net...

It's basically just the longblock, and they claim it has between 30k-40k miles.

JDM B20A (fuel injected) is in the 87-90 preludes in japan (3rd gen)
it is 142hp and is basically just setup to run on higher octane gas than available in north america. to get it to run good and pass emissions you must slightly change the timing.
as for its availability, it's hard to come by. most engine suppliers can get it, but it takes time. there are a lot less out there than B16's... gotta keep your eyes open on this one.
