omniman told me 8200 - 8400 on stock rods. i shift @ 7500 with stock b16 head. omniman pretty respected on this site so ill take his word for but my cams dont make power up that hi so i have no reason to go that hi.

yea just need a quick fix to end the season here in buffalo. snow will be here in about 2months. so 8200 is the limit. After revving the **** outta my last motor I want more of a stock redline this time. I am just wondering how my crower stage3's are going to react to that bottom end.(valve clearance and low compression wise).

8200 is on stock internals. the cams would like more compression, but it will be ok. you must machine bigger valve reliefs on in. and ex. for the vtec cams.

machine the pistons?? I will have to clay the motor before I go ahead and run it, thats not a problem. I didnt think I would have a clearance problem.

trust. YOU HAVE to either put some forged pistons with the correct valve relief cut or grind the ones in ur block. if kissthe whole engine goodbye! i wasnt warned about piston to valve clearnce when got my 1st b20 vtec. on my second now. learned alot and do my own work. yeah and i did it with 402 cams smaller cam.

when mine gave out a valve just couldnt take anymore, broke got bang up until my #1 piston shattered pretty much in half due to the valve going through it. 3 out my 4 cylinders got damaged. after going through the piston it bounced of the crank and made it through the block. total loss waste of an engine. i dont wanna see that **** happen to anybody. i only had that engine for about 3 months or so.
