non -oem bearings for d16z6

Do any of you motor builder or racers have experience with non oem engine bearings for d16z6 or y8 motors? I was looking at clevite and ACL. I'm trying to put together the most cost effective motor that I can, but I won't sacrifice quality for price, if OEM is dramatically better, than I will get OEM. Also, what sites should I go to for acl/clevite? I only found acl on honda saver, but no d-series apps listed.

ACL bearings are suppose to rock. There is a guy on here that sells the set for like 99.00 for a D series
