vacume<? i cant spell? tube on CAI
im confused up by the throttle body/? intake manifold whatever its called i shoved my cold air intake into, theres 2 tubes to connect to the intake, i guess, the one to the crank case, and the vacume line , do i connect the vacume line or cap it off? thanks cause i connected it to the hole for it in my aem intake but i heard you are suppsed to cap it off.
There should only be 1 connection: The 1 tube that's on your intake should go to the crank case and that's it! You will have a vacuum line left over after the instal of a CAI that went to the stock intake butterfly valve. That one you don't need anymore and needs to be capped off.
I hope this helps

hmmm, lots of misinformation in this thread...
There is a vaccum line that goes from stock intake pipe into a hard plastic line, that snakes around to the front of the intake manifold. This is the IACV. You should take the line off and leave the port open. if you close it off, your car will not idle right.

its not a regular vaccum port. The line goes to the intake pipe on the upstream side of the TB. The only difference is that with the stock set up, its filtered air.

the little thing on the right bolts on to the front right side of the manifold. (This is on 4th gens). Inside is basically a second idle adjustment, that varies automatically. The line runs from there to the intake pipe, so that when it draws air, its filtered air. Leaving it open is not creating a vaccum leak, and if you cap it, the car will do funny things at idle

Ok, if that's the case then you should connect it to the air intake, or buy one of those little filters and stick it right on it. I didn't know the 4th gens had that as an external connection. The 5th gens have this also, but it's build in and you can't see it.
This is true.
I bought a cheap *** CAI on EBAY a while back, and it actually had a port on top of the pipe for that line, while the AEM does not - ironic

What I did on my Iceman is I took the little metal hose connector that's on the stock intake and drilled a smaller hole in the rubber part that connects the intake to the Throttle body and pushed it in connected the hose. Looks perfect. You wouldn't know it wasn't supposed to be like that just looking at it.
actually my aem does have a hole for it. yesterday i capped it, my car was running funny so i re connected it. i pulled my car out of gear when i was driving(when it was capped) and my car kept exelerating for a few seconds, also it when i let off the gas, the car doesnt for a second or 2 after i let off. so caping it was no good.
