Please tell me this has happened to somebody else
I was changing the rear mane seal on my block trying to stop an oil leek after taking the tranny, clutch and flywheel off and replacing the seal I found out that that wasn’t the problem. So I fixed the problem and then put it all back together. Took it out for the test drive and there was this bad rattle sound. So I get it home after taking my half mile test drive that I always go on after I do work on my car. I poped the hood and find out that the sound is coming from the flywheel clutch area. So I take the tranny and every thing all back apart agene pissed at my self for not doing it right the first time. I don’t know how many times I have taken out a tranny, clutch, and flywheel which makes it even worse.
Well this is what I found now I’m going to replace the bolts but dose every thing else look reusable. Like the flywheel and crank.

Dude ..I know what you mean ! I did a swap for my friend and without knowing he put WD-40 trying to clean the resu off for some reason on the flywheel bolts! 1 day later they came loose and stated to make a horrible sound! That night took it apart ugh! Replace the bolts and add some blue lock tight or even ed to them looks like they werern't tw'd enough
looks pretty messed up but it can be reuseable as long as the surfaces that touch between the crank and the flywheel are flat ,if not get new parts ,if you cant afford them then smoothen out the rough burrs, then make sure you touque the flywheel bolt to 76 foot pounds.oh ya you need new bolts
Had that happen to a friend. Just had to use a tap to clean up the threads inside the crank. Used Loctite the next time, but he didnt reuse the same flywheel.
