MY ITR is hard to start lately...anyone else
I have been having a hard time getting my 28k ITR to start lately. It cranks over numerous times before actually starting. It used to only due it occasionally. Now it seems every other time. I always let the fuel system get up to pressue. I wait till it quits beeping. Has anyone else had this problem.
I noticed on my prelude that it did it occasionally and I was not too worried til now. I have had the valves adjusted at 15k and oil changed with Mobil 1 every 3k. Original plugs, cap, rotor, dist, etc. It seems to run fine when I finally get it started. Anyone have any suggestions, other than take it to the dealer.
Thanks Josh

Take it to the dealer.

Sounds like you are doing it right. Have you ever cleaned your injectors? Do they do that with the 15K service?
How about distributor? Rotor? etc....
Good Luck

I did not have my injectors cleaned at the 15k. Do they do that at 15k? Have to check my owners manual tonight.

Josh...
take the cap off and look at the rotor. I looked at mine with 12K miles on it and there was a gray film on the metal ends... chipped the crap off and felt a little bit better.

hey sxgt, sounds like you need a new PGM-FI relay, under the dash next to the fuse box. can you hear the fuel pump cycle if you turn the key on, but not to start it? does it start sometimes fine, and other times it just cranks? is the car really hot, as in sitting in the sun for a while? chances are that's what the problem is. the relay is about $30 from acura.
