GReddy TD-04-15G kit & E-manage Q's, also calling all Austin, TX ppl!
ok, I finally got my GReddy TD-04-15G kit w/ Type31 FMIC installed. Done by pro's i.e. not me.
Anyway, this is the newer kit and it came with E-manage. Now according to my installer, he says that the included E-manage prompts for a code so that it is untunable. He says that GReddy does this in order to save money by ditching the "blue box" and just include a pre-programmed but untunable E-manage w/ their kits. Is this true? Sounds like BS to me? I mean why would GReddy do that? I'm assuming that I could just buy the necessary wiring harnesses aka injector, ignition and finish setting up the E-manage but why do it if I can't even really use it?
Furthermore, is there anyone in Austin, TX that can help me with my car. and please don't say do it myself cuz I don't have time right now since I'm in school and have a part time job.
Thanks.

lol it is bs i think. My kit came with the blue box(said emanage). All the blue box was was a preset piggyback that made ur car run rich so it didnt blow up lol. it's the same **** just says emanage on it now. i sold mine and did vafc hack.
The GReddy FCU isn't the same as the GReddy E-manage. One is tuneable; the other isn't. But yeah, both are piggybacks. I've never heard about asking for a code before you can go and tune the E-manage that comes with the newer kits. The only thing I've heard is that it comes with a sticker that says if the settings are fiddled w/ then the kit's no longer 50-state legal. Might call up GReddy or various GReddy dealers and see what they say.
yea i wasnt very specific about the "code" when I was writing my post. what i meant was that if you tried to hook a laptop up to the usb port on it that it would ask for a "password" and that only GReddy was supposed to know it so you couldn't fiddle with it. At least this is what the guy told me. I mean the "blue box" that I got in my kit looks exactly like the E-manage that he bought for his 300ZX. Man, I wish I won the lotto or something so that this wouldnt even matter to me, cuz then I'd just go AEM. :/
