New 98' Prelude SH
Hey guys I got a 1998 Prelude SH recently (in July) and have been trying to find a good online Honda forum. I found this one from Freshalloy, and it seems like the people here are Honda people and not Honduh people.
So i've been wondering what are some good mods to do with my SH? I know that you cant put out too much wheel power or else the ATTS can get screwy. And I think I read that you cant really change the ECU chips.. I was wondering what are some decent mods to put out a few extra ponies..
Not too much of a Honda dude, never was. I was always obsessed with nissans..240sx's and 300zx's.. But I ended up getting a Prelude..
There are a few problems with the car, mostly with the gearbox. It grinds from time to time, and the shifter is just not smooth. But I think some MT fluid will fix that problem..
Well if you guys can help me out, that would be rad..
Here are some pics..

nice car
i love black ludes.
as far as your grind is concerned, everyone here's been raving about the GM Syncromesh MTF. supposedly smooths out grinds, so you might want to hit your chevy dealer and get a few bottles.
insofar as your mods are concerned, are you going to be auto-x'ing/road racing or dragging?
i think a good set of coilovers is a good place to start.
hehe "honduh"... sounds like you're fresh from the NICO forums
(i'm a s14 guy myself, but i have a lude and i like it. but eventually the s14>>>R33 GT-S conversion will begin. after selling tons of drugs and robbing a few banks

)
cheers,
and welcome.

Just replace your tranny fluid and it'll make things alot better. As far as modding the car, start with I/H/E, they get pulleys, VAFC, do some suspension work and you're pretty set.

hi, i noticed that you're from deerfield and i'd recommend you to check out http://www.chicagolandpreludeclub.com and join our forum in addition to this and po.com. and yes, black cars are the nicest (i have one too).
So im browsing HT, and u know what i realized, you bought the car that i was going to buy. I believe you bought it on a friday in july, because i went to fields volvo of libertyville on saturday and the guy told me it was sold the day before. You beat me to the prelude, but since then I found another prelude and it is now sitting in my garage. If you would like to tell me how much you paid for it, cauz i was going to offer the dealer 11k for it on sat before i found out it was sold.
welcome to the forum, honda-tech is very informative but frowns upon dumb questions (not saying your post is, just stating a fact)
good luck in your future with honda-tech!
