Default Well, girlfriends car is officially totalled...looking at a 98-02 accord coupe.

Damn, i thought we would easily fix my girl's 02 civic but it looks like we might be going shopping soon, kinda sucks after i put a nice bit of cash into the civic, but live and learn i guess.

So I have been jocking the accord coupes for a long time now (7th gen right?) and I was wondering if there are any model years i should avoid, things i should look for, or any other accord-related sites of note.

I think we will be going with an auto this time (hate to say it, but my girl just...well...you know how it is ) preferably in the V6 variety.

they come in LX, EX, V6 etc correct? also could someone poiunt me to a thread with the speaker sizes in the doors and rear deck? thx..

I'm sure simliar questions have been asked, and i have a lot of searching ahead of me, but if someone could point me to some helpful threads i would appreciate it.

Whats a good price for a V6 accord in Nor Cal? Anyone?

also...does anyone know of anyone who has swapped RSX-S seats into their accord? Are the stock seats pretty comfortable? I just bought these for the civic not even 3 weeks before the accident =/

thx guys, sorry if im asking noobish questions.

for all your accord related inquiries check out http://www.accordinglydone.com

the 98-02 is actually the 6th gen.

dont know the speaker sizes, but in my 5th gen EX they were 5 3/4" in the front doors, with tweeters up in the dash. and 6x9s on the rear deck lid.

maybe that helps.... if not lo ciento

wow, ive already found some nice coupes less then 10 minutes away. the first mods on my list will be a drop and some new headlights, then maybe some rims.

are there any kind of jdm, gunmetal or similar headlights available for the coupes? do a lot of accord owners do some kind of diy headlight mod?

it's not jdm, black out or whatever it's called black housing headlight, blackout is when you paint your lens with transparent paint which is very popular in the early 90's with the mustang and camero.

if you have black housing stanley's than its jdm.

most people choose to buy the cheap imatation versions (which are designed for LHD)... while some people choose to paint the housing on their stock headlights. ive seen many do it yourself threads and webpages on that topic.

as far as rims... if you end up getting a 4cyl you should buy my volks! but if you get a v6 that wont work cus youll have 5x114.3

my friend has an 01 sedan with the black ion headlights, i think those look pretty dope. really yellow at night...like foglight yellow, not halogen yellow, even though they are halogen bulbs. looks sexy.

Why the V6? I've driven both and the 4cyl feels much lighter on it's feet, more nimble and fun to drive. The V6 has more power, obviously, but the 4cyl with a 5speed tranny is as fast to 60mph as the V6/auto. I'm talking 6th gens here.

well i know that in japan the 6th gen jdm headlights wont fit the 6th gens in us without TONS of work to it the gap is just too big you should ebay they got plenty of blackhousing headlights for the 6th gen

one more thing beware when lowering the 6th gen its a bitch... i did my friends coupe there is very little clearance when putting the shocks springs back in try and remember how you got it out and put it back the same way

hmmm...is lowering really a bitch? i was thinking of going with just springs, some conservative ones that wont rape the stock struts for some time. Any suggestions?

does anyone have a llink for the avail colors for the 98-02's?

thx =]

we just did the springs on his car no shocks we used the stock for temp since his car was still new its easy going out but going back in is hard so try and remember the exact way you put it in
