the plot that everyone wants
Third gear will usually yield a higher result. Especially in a 6 speed car. Usually good for a few extra HP. Still a good HP number though. Would still like to see a 4th gear run.

Most of the other RSX Type-Ss have been in that range. Wonder why this one is so different. Reminds me of the one and only Celica GTS that was dynoed, bone stock, at an extremely high number. Wonder if this is the same dyno.

WOW, flat as a 12 year old school girl!!
Even has the little mosquito bite dip at the X-over!
Okay, just like usual, someone needs to figure out if a VTEC controller will work on this car, because I'm thinking just shifting the x-over down to 5,500 or so will fix that little dip, and smooth it out EVEN MORE.
Seems awful strong to me, that translates to about 215 crank ...... that car has to pull like a beast for a stocker!

Where do you guys get this "8%" driveline efficienet crap?
Ever have the thought that Acura was conserative with its 200 HP rating?

Um...had a chance to see an RSX Type S in action this Saturday in the Mountains of Helen, Georgia. (Emmet, ArticFreeze) He kept up with our Rs but wasn't enough to hang with TJ(RatedR). Could be just he's new in the car.
But concerning the 184hp, it is kind of odd that a 240 horsepower S2000 is around that range...but then again, i'm full of **** and shouldn't be talking. Um...184hp it is guys.
I'm out of here...
Well if this is true... The car is still slower than an ITR! I went to the drag strip on friday and I was running 15.5 sec @90 mph! The RSX is about 250 lbs heavier... I was running 15 sec flat easily @ 95 mph with both ITR I've owned (with and without A/C)! And with a personnal best of 14.7@96 mph!
My RSX-S has only 1000 miles, so I can expect maybe to go down to 15.3 in few thousand miles, but I still think that stock for stock and ITR is faster that a RSX-S!
Just my .02$

I think people that this RSX is broken in probably has some milage put on it for other r&d you know suspension set ups and stuff. So that would probably be the best answer to it.
Maybe these new motors get crazy mad power once properly broken in

this was and is a 97 R and a 2002 S with 500+kms an gaining quickly the race will happen in a couple of weeks when the S is broken in and no the dyno is not of my friends car just something that was emailed to me.

Dynojets tend to read high. Don't forget, dynos are mostly useful for tuning a particular car, especially in the same session. Take the same car to two different dynos and you get two different numbers, but you should get a similar curve. That's a beautiful torque line, kudos to Honda! But the numbers are pretty useless, IMHO.

and just so we are on the same page, most estimates use btwn 18-20% driveline loss opossed to the mentioned 8%.
Also, unless the gear ratio is exactly 1:1 the numbers will be off, until they are corrected (by the program). so I'm told. -C

18-20% for what car? doesn't it vary (i know it does, uh, right?) meaning gsr and type-s could have different percentages. i've always used 15% as a broad, general starting point as some cars are 12% and some are 20% (uh, am i right?). C: skool us
S2Ks vary widely between ~13% and 21% drivetrain losses. type R's are usually between about 15% and 20%. 8% is ridiculous. either the RSX is highly underrated (very doubtful), this plot is total BS (possible) or the dynojet was miscalibrated (very possible), or the car was not stock (most likely, imho).
