Swapped Integra lower f-arms into eg hatch, shock mount seems off ??
I swapped in a set of 2000 integra lower front control arms into my 92 hatch to have the factory mounts for sway bars and I was bolting the shocks in (new koni and eibach setup) and it looks like the the shock is crooked now. I can almost bolt it up, but I can't get the bolt all the way through the bushing because the holes don't mount up. It was late last night, so I decided that was enough for the day. One of my first thoughts was the shock fork was on the wrong side. Clarify for me, the fork with 'VL' on it stands for vehicle left and 'VR' is for vehicle right ? Thats what I thought and am pretty sure thats correct because its also how it looks in the manual. Now I am also questioning if I need the integra shock fork, but they are the same chassis I thought? I think I'll also try unbolting the shock spring assembly from the shock tower and bolting up the lower mount, then trying the shock tower mount. Anyone wanna tell me whats up? Oh ya, I also installed a set of energy suspension bushings into the car. I hope thats not whats off...
ok, soooo it seems like I'm on my own. but...
To make it more basic...
Swapping out the lower from A-arms for Integra arms should be a direct bolt in and I don't need to change any other parts... right?

It looks like its off more than that... I'm going to look at it again tonight and try to bolt up the bottom first and then try and pull it into position and bolt up the top... It looks like is off by 3" from center...

Ya, its fine.
When I bolted up the shock on the top first and tried to bolt up the bottom after it was off by a bunch. It looked like 3 inches. So I boltd it up from the bottom first because I could push the shock into place easier. That worked fine. So, problem fixed for now.
The only thing is with the urethane bushings its tough to bolt this stuff up. The bushings are so hard is difficult to get stuff lined up. I'm on the rear right now and those are tougher yet. I think I just need to figure out which order to assemble the joints so I can push/pull things into place easier. Stuff just seems way off, I dunno. Anyone have a tough time installing energy suspension bushings? I did just about the whole car and it needed it, but they were kind of a bitch!
