Default kicked out of racetrack...92.3 decibals

well when i went racing the other night, i was kicked out for a noise violation.

my car has a 4-1 "mugen style" header, no cat, and 2.5 back through a magnaflow muffler and resonator, and a 36'' cherry bomb glasspack...

my question is, what do you guys think i should do? add something more into the system? just change out the components? or just have the whole damn thing replaced.

some of my friends said they would be able to help me weld up an exhaust using new parts and some of what i already had...

i guess i just need someone to tell me what to do

I cant believe that is to loud, unless you have a giant leak somewhere. i have a stock header, no cat, a 18 inch resonator and a flowmaster 40 series and for a b series honda its fairly quiet except in vtec. 2 1/4 piping also. i think the track just flamed on you because you were an import. the only thing i can think of is maybe it sounds like crap but i doubt it. It has so much sound absorbing stuff the muff the glass pack and the resonator, jesus alot of restriction. i dont think a high flow cat would quiet it down that much. also as soon as i get all the tunign done ill get a cat, just dont want to righ tnow and ruin it since im running rich.

try just running a resonator with a turndown on the bottom of your shifter. I have that and never have gotten kicked at strict tracks. i guess the sound just bounces around under the car. better than having it shoout out to the track officials as you go down the track.

If I were to guess, The cherry bomb glasspack is your problem! They are designed to make exhaust sound louder.

So you were running 92.3? What's the limit?

If you just need to take it down a couple decibels to be compliant and want something easy/cheap...run a resonated tip. They actually work.

Find out what side the decibel meter is on the track and turn the tail pipe the other way. If it's on both sides, take off the glass pack, cherry bomb.

u say its stupid to not run a cat, i agree but i also am not gonna buy a cat until its tuned, i dont want to ruin a brand new cat and waste the money of buying it and taking the time of putting it on, also the car hasnt even seen 12k miles in the past 2 years so its not like I have to drive it daily, its my toy used to be my daily but now its not.

a cat makes it ALOT quieter. whoever asid cherry bombs make it loder is dumbass they are glasspacks!uneed to move the cherry bomb as far back as you can. the farther back the 4exhaust components the quieter it will be. im using a dynomax glasspack muffler straight trough and a cherry bomb (both perforated core) and a cat.
my entire exhaust is 2.5 from the header to the tail and my exhaust is quieter than my intake

my friend got kicked out at Jax Raceways (1/8th mile track) in FL... so there is probably an extent of how loud it can be

My buddy was pulled over the other day (B16 EF)and the cop said something about his exhaust...header,no cat,2.5 piping...but what about all these rednecks on Harleys? Oh, yeah, that's right! How silly of me! Harleys SUPPOSED to be loud. A Honda is supposed to be QUIET. My bad.

If you want to quiet your car down, replacing your Magnaflow with a Flowmaster 3 chamber in combination with your cherrybomb will produce a reasonably quiet system. I have a DC 4-1, 2.5" exhaust with a magnaflow 4" OD muffler (used as a resonator) and a flowmaster three chamber. I tried running a magnaflow straight through muffler in the place of my flowmaster when I was putting the exhaust together and it was a lot louder.
