Title says it all. It is salvaged if it makes any difference.

Around ten years ago, Forbes or WSJ compared the parts value of new vs. replacemnt, as a factor of the profitability of insurance companies and their criteria for "totals." They used a Jeep Cherokee as their model. New it cost $25K; built from replacement parts, it cost nearly $60K.

Obviously, salvage is quite profitable. Problem is, you must sit on inventory until it sells. I'm guessing that a strut bar, the engine, brakes and hubs, exhaust will sell quickly, whereas fenders, headlights, taillights, windshield, etc. will take a while to sell, since they don't have the performance attributes associated with the hype R mystique.

Your last statement makes alot of sense. Couldn't I just sell the shell whole. How much are people paying for one these days.

my car is salvaged, but not just once, twice! lol if you have the original parts then by all means put them back in and sell the aftermarket stuff separately.

We had a similar post a while back.

The consenus was that you might get close to ~$18-19k if you sold every part from the car. But, trying to get rid of the shell and other misc. items might take way too much time.

i'd be interested in the shell as well. Or maybe the whole car altogether.....what are you looking to get. Maybe sell the JDM & Mugen parts seperately and sell the rest of the car whole.........sell the whole interior actually......I'll take it with a stripped interior. Just want a ready to run R.
Think about it.....get back to me with a price!

It is in pretty good condition some rock chips here and there, no dents, and paint just needs a good buffing.

As long as there is no frame damage. A shell is good for a few thousand.

Keep it Martin...am I coming over tomorrow to pull the bumper and check to see if you're missing anything? When do you want to do that alarm work, I need to call the installer? Anything else and IGGY has my number...but the car is basically stock other than the JDM items that you've added, might just feel like a stock car...we'll also pull the valve cover and take a look at how everything looks under there.

Well I think I am going to try and sell it and buy a 98 ITR. I will sell if I can get around $16.5k with all the aftermarket stuff. Anybody interested?
