Default JDM CRX SiR Air Box Intake Assembly...

Hey I just got my ef air box and it's in great shape. but the filter is black and it's one of the stock paper filters so it won't clean out. Will a new stock crx si usdm filter fit the air box? or will a 91 integra drop-in filter fit? please give me your ideas and thaughts. Thanks

Sorry for the dead post guys, I found it in archived posts. Thanks for your help though, i'll add the info I found to this post if any one is looking for it.
Posted by RyanR on 8/5/02- [No, stock CRX will not work. The SiR airbox is larger. You need to get a K&N part #33-2061. You can order it online from any K&N dealer. I got mine for $38. Or you can get the Spoon filter for $120. Choice is yours.]

So that part number from K&N works with the EF8/9 air boxes? Whats the cross reference for that number, like is it from a 90-93 teggy? I want that HKS drop in but i cant find it anywhere....

i got lucky im using an sir2 airbox doesnt fit with stock battery placement but the one i got off one of our clips had an hks in it, so i fig hey its free and its pimp so battery movement wasnt a big deal for something with a little jdm spice.

A friend of mine also has the EF9 air box and it also came with the HKS drop in and the little HKS sticker on the air box itself. I did not get so lucky....

Alright i just went on the K&N website and found this:

1991 HONDA Civic 1.6L L4 F/I 33-2047 Air Filter Non-US,VTI, VTEC,B16A

1991 HONDA Civic 1.6L L4 F/I 33-2061 Air Filter Non-US,VTEC,D16A9

I have the JDM EF9 B16A air box so wouldnt i need part number 33-2047?? and not part number 33-2061 like someone else mentioned? I know both filters aren't the same or else they would have the same part number. I just want to make sure i dont order the wrong filter. Thanks.

it fits exactly like a stock one but the box it self is a little longer so it goes up to the headlight. fits like a glove!

Alright i will be ordering the 33-2061 then, even though it states its for the D16A9 and not the B16A. I hope you're right....and please tell me you speak of personal experience? EF8 and EF9 air boxes are exact too right?

thanks,

I bought one a few months ago, you want to get the 33-2061. it took me one day to get it but probably because they are only 2 towns away from me.

^^ I live in Canada where we have rhd cars all over the place (thy are not looked apon as being cool, we always laugh when we see people doing rhd conversions down south)

Anyway, lot's of people bring in clean cars including EF's, then throw an intake on. I just found one on our local carclub website... beyond.ca

same here, im running a jdm B16A intake from an EDM EF8 in my crx. also using the k&n filter, its one of the first things i always swap out. not to mention that this sucker is/looks beefier than my AEM intake. i prefer this better to an aftermarket one.
