Default b16 exhaust question

im finally getting my b16 swapped out of my DA and into my crx and im having to think of what to do for my exhaust. Id like to get something with a carb exemption, as im hoping to make it legal with my local smog ref sometime in the future (and the local police are trying to "crack down" on imports). Would that be possible, or are the carb exempt numbers that are put on parts motor specific? Is there a cat back exhaust avalable for crx's with b16s? if not what sort of modifications are necessary to make it work. Also being that i couldnt find anything on the subject if you could relay your experiences with crx b16s and catbacks in an ef id appreciate it. thanks

You can modify your exhaust cat -back with no carb # needed. Carb #'s will be needed for the header, intake, etc, or anything that modifys the function of the motor. The exhaust is only a outlet for the exhaust; the only infranction related to that is the noise level keep it within 96 db's for legal use.
