Default Tranny Leaking from Shift Rod Oil Seal?

i did a search and wanted to make sure what was posted was correct.

so does the tranny have to be disassembled to replace the oil seal around the shift rod?

No. Just pull the boot back, pop off the c-clip, drive out the roll pin, and slide the shifter off of the shaft. Remove the old seal and install a new one. Grease it (the seal) up a little first.
