Is anyone using a DA master cylinder and brake booster in their rex?
Will these parts, off a 90 integra, bolt right in to a 90 CRX si?? And if so, will they improve braking when using the integra brake conversion (front and rear)?
thanks in advance

no dont try this. it doesnt fit
as for your question. yes it will fit. you must use the booster and MC. just the MC will not fit on the Civic booster. some people will tell you that it gives the brakes too much power and causes them to lock up too quick. i have this set-up and i dont lock mine up. i also have the rear disc conversion (90-93 Integra rear brakes w/ proportioning valve)

Best brake mod I ever did in my old rex, HUGE difference in braking, mine never locked up under hard braking even on shitty *** stock tires....
they do bolt in as everyone has said

i know the 90-91 civic ex mc bolts up to the stock ef booser. since its 15/16ths instead of stock 7/8ths, it should provide the same effect, yes??

You can also use the DB2 MC, it is 1" but has a larger fitting in the port nearest the firewall. The solution is to use your stock hardline, slip larger fitting on, and double-flare the line.
im lookin for the best plug-and-play stuff here. i can flare and bend tubing, but i dont have any of the tools at home.
that was the other option. i wonder if theres a differance between ex master and da master+booster in reguard to brake performance
If EX and DA MCs/Boosters are both 15/16 than I'm sure you get the same performance. I know for the DA MC you need the Booster to to be able to mount it. Not sure about the EX one, but never upgrade the MC without the booster or else its pointless.
DA and EX had nearly the same front brakes so I'm sure a lot of the stuff is similar.

well, not pointless. the ex being 15/16ths will move more fluid per cm of movement of the piston. so u will engage teh brake pads to the rotor sooner. but u may be underboosted. im gonna try to get internal specs on all 3 boosters and see what the deal is.

Yes, please find out because Im debating between picking up a 3rd gen Prelude Master Cylinder only and keep the stock HF brake booster, or find a DA Integra booster and MC at a boneyard.
I'd rather spend money on a New or Rebuilt Napa Prelude MC and use it with my stock HF booster, than a used junkyard DA booster and MC I have no clue how long it will last.
What effect will I experience by using a bigger MC on the stock HF booster?
BTW, I'm still running the stock HF brakes in the rear, but upgraded to the JDM front SIR brakes, knuckle, control arm, etc.
My brakes right now are fine, the only thing is the travel is long before it becomes firm because the stock HF MC is not moving enough fluid for the bigger JDM brakes.

When you swap just the MC sure it takes less pedal travel, but it takes just as much effort to press down the pedal, so you have shitty brake feel. Swap both the MC and Booster and you will have less travel and less effort, you won't be disappointed. But I assure you you will with just the MC.
You guys who aren't getting brake lockup--you must be using very crappy pads.
I have fresh oem 91 Si stuff on my Civic and with a good set of pads on 15x7 wheels with 205 Azenis, I can lock the brakes if I step on the pedal hard enough.
However, I do hate the pedal feel with the oem sized master cylinder.

My Crx comes stock with 4 wheel disc brakes, so do I have to use a 90-93 integra proportioning valve? Or can I use the stock one?
I would use the stock prop. valve in that case. Just get the bigger booster and MC if your heart's set on it.
If you had DA brakes all 'round use the DA prop. valve in conjunction with the MC and booster. I'm using the '88 Si prop. valve with DA brakes on the front and drums on the rear (don't mock, it's temporary) and it biases too much to the rear brakes (ie tail-happy on hard braking). Not good

well, my question is the following: I have a 88 dx with brembo cross/drilled rotors, neuspeed lines, axxis pads, but i have everything else stock on the back and on the system itself, my brake booster is fucked up because my old master cylinder blew up and some fluid went to the booster, im looking for a replacement for the brake booster since i bought a brand new 88 dx mc, i went to autozone and price goes over 80 bucks for a brand new mc cylinder for my car, I was wondering if there is a replacement on newer cars, i have a very good resource of junk yards near my house. Maybe I can use a 95 civic dx brake booster, which i know it should be in good conditions. What do u guys think?
