Replacing clutch on a 94 Ford Escort
Please no flames, I understand some of you guys work in repair shops that work on all makes...
I'm doing this for a buddy and I want to get it done in one day so I'd like to know what if anything I should be aware of before I start...
I'm perfectly capable as far as the labor goes, but I want to have everything ready when I begin.
What special tools if any will I need? I read that I will need differential plugs.... where do I get these, nobody knows what I'm talking about... snap on tools doesn't have them... mac tools doesn't have them... the local ford parts counter told me to call up mac tools... and we already know how much they helped me. Do I even need these mystery plugs? will the differential go out of alignment if I don't have them?
What size sockets and wrenches will I need? I only have metric sizes, since it's a domestic will I need standard sizes?
Oh, what size axle nut socket will I need? Any tips on removing and torqueing the axle nut without an impact gun?? If not, I'll just go out and grab an electric impact gun from harbor freight...
I read that I should use one of them "engine support bar" thingies.... can I just put a jack under the oil pan with a block of wood??? because that would be a whole lot easier...
One more question, what size socket(s) will I need for the flywheel and clutch. It'll need to be a 12-point, right?
Any help is much appreciated, thanks!!

A Haynes or Chilton's manual would be my first tool. Charge your buddy the $15 and but one. It will answer all your questions.
