alright so after my hood was keyed it is going to cost about 400$ to repair. I was wondering if i could paint a carbon fiber hood to look like it belongs on my car? Is that possible? or will that just add weight? Is a carbon fiber hood worth it? How much would i gain with cf hood?

 

you can paint a cf hood to color match the car and it will still be lighter than your stock hood.

 

so your stock hood got keyed just buy a cf hood itll cost you 320 for a vis one if you browse around but on average it should cost maybe 350 ive heard of people clear coating a certain color such as pearls persay to match a custom color and have that cf hood look so you get the cf hood with a tint of your stock color

heres a tip about cf hood dont settle for less you get what you payed for i had this cf hood and it was a no brander payed 250 for it good deal right? then couple days go by the heat from the engine bay distorted my hood i have bumps and dips on my hood but its not too bad i just drive around with the hood popped lol til i get my headers wrapped or till i go out and buy a vis hood

 

vis got some nice *** stuff
got a oem style hood from vis, which is 5-10 min away from my house

 

VIS's hoods deffinately have a nice reputation, not much more than the "el cheapos" either....ESPECIALLY when you consider the life of the VIS vs. the other.
