EF8 is right. I swapped in a shifter out of my 93 Del sol. They are all the same.

im 100% sure. I have worked at a bunch of shops and had to go through this a bunch of times. they will all fit but the integras have dual bends. I have gone through a bunch of shifters. Most of the aftermarket shifters break. If you wanted to go stock, go with a type r or a Gsr, they fit and feel the best. but if you wanted to go aftermarket, i would go with the skunk2.

94+ integra shifters are very nice for a quick upgrade. The dual bends seem to place the shifter **** in a more natural position than the single angular bend of the civic stick.

btw, i've had a hurst for almost 2 years and its given me no problems.

If you wanted a shorter shifter, go with the Del Sol. Real small ALL OEM

the base of the stock dual bend gsr shifters are too wide and will only fit in the stock shift linkage if cut down ( i think the aftermarket ones might work)

I remember it being decided that del Sol shifters have the same bottom length as some or all other H/As [civic/crx and/or integra...don't remember], just a shorter top part...just like cutting off the top of your shifter.

It does drop the **** a lot though, they say.

Here is my question....I'm not sure what the reason...I have long legs, or short arms...but the steering wheel and shifter seem far from me in stock configuration. Would a short shifter help me get more comfortable by keeping some of the gears closer to me [5th gear which is out the passenger's side window ] or would it be a problem because the shifter is further [lower] from my shoulder?

I'd appreciate comments from people that have been in the same predicament as me, as well as those with suggestions. I would also like to hear if I'm the only one that feels out of proportion with my car...[long legs...seat back...****, can't reach steering wheel....*crash.......or......can't reach steering wheel......seat foreward.....legs at funny angle.......harder time pushing pedals and sore A$$ because I'm not resting my weight across my entire leg that makes contact with my seat. ] I have a position which compromises my problems right now.

Ok, just so it's public. I had 93 Del sol Si. The shifter(stock) was tall, long throw (for the small area you sit in) and I got on ebay and purchased a Type R shifter. In the shifter I got some spacers which I had to use but other wise it was a direct fit. The Type R shifter is angled back towards the driver making it (in the sol) a wierd shift at first(took lots of getting use to), but no trani issues. It actually shifter better than stock and my throw was about 3mm between gears. It's very close, very tight and for me reduced grinding. I ended up cutting the shifter down to improve the throw. It was to tall causing my angle on the shifter to uncomfortable for me. Once I cut it began shifting with zero complications. The sol was totalled out and I took the shifter out and put it on the new shifting linkage for my swap. Again it was going into a 89 Civic Dx with a B16A1 Si-R 1 with Y1 trani and Hasport linkage(I set up a dealer account with them). Everything again was direct fit minus the spacers I had to reuse. I still expirence the glass like shifting. Same throw. The difference between stock and after market. The joint where the linkage hooks up is lower allowing for a tighter shift. The shifting shaft is angled towards the driver allowing for more relaxe shift over stock. The after market one is better for car fans if your seeking a more proficient shift.

i recommend the b&m edge shifter. its stainless steel with a straight design and not once has it flexed on me. you can order one from options auto http://www.optauto.com for $50. half the price of most short shifters but twice the quality!!

Thanks, I want to try out the ITR one before I try something aftermarket. Looking for a cheap replacement to my messed up one.
