Default VTEC-i??

Can somebody explain to me the major difference in the VTEC-i system vs VTEC. Advantages vs Cons mainly. Thinking about getting a TypeS. And for the wise guys I've already tried the search function. If I had used the search function 3 years ago when the VTEC-i system came out then I would be forced to search on my own. Enough, PLEASE HELP!

i-VTEC is just VTC on the intake cam....its a gear which lets the ecu advance/retard timing infinitely on the fly ...same thing as VVTL-i in Toyotas i believe

check this page for more info on VTC : http://www.hondata.com/techk20general.html

These two websites contain info on i-vtec:

http://asia.vtec.net/article/ivtec/index.html

http://www.acura.com/models/ty...hcp=1

I found this info by going to yahoo.com (or any other search engine) and typing "i-vtec". There were many results, but the two websites I listed should help. Hope everything works out with you getting a TypeS.

That's true of the USA K20A3.

But, it's not true of the others, is it?

Don't the K20A ITR, K20A2 Type S and K24 TSX all have VTEC on both cams?</TD></TR></TABLE>

The Type S and TSX have Vtec on both cams, but he was talking about VTC (Variable Timing Control)

He was saying it only has VTC on the intake came...which has got me confused a bit. I know the EP3 only has a VTEC cam on the intake side, so obviously the same goes for VTC. But about the K20A2 Type S motor...does it have VTC on both cams? Or is that uneccessary?
