Default exhaust question?

I just ordered a universal exhaust and want to know if I can just bolt it directly to my civic or do I need some type of piping or shop work? I have a 92 Civic lx.

universal muffler or piping?

If you ordered universal piping you're an idiot.

If its just the muffler, you can have a shop chop off ur existing muffler and weld the muffler to the existing exhaust pipe, or you can have the shop replace the entire exhaust piping from the catalytic converter back with the muffler welded on the end...

FYI: This is a noob question, and you really need to search before you ask such a basic question. I usually bash noobs and make fun of them, but luckily I am in a good mood. Just dont let it happen again

*sigh...

refrain from telling anyone how much you paid for it. cuz it might get ugly.

also, a universal requires you to take it to a muffler shop, so they can cut your old one off, and weld on that one.

regardless of what you think, your car isnt faster. but, do have fun with it. and dont street race

I actually have a welded on muffler, it felt faster because it was louder. And there is a definite performance decline when I put the silencer in.

So basically what i'm saying is, my butt dyno says you're wrong
