Was doing rear disk swap. One of the bolts won't unbolt, it just spins freely.

What can I do?

 

Let me guess, the bolt going though the bottom of the shock. Happens all the time. Break out the torch.

 

It's one of the bolts that goes up into the body. One that goes through that bow tie shaped piece.

Is there someone who specializes in that sort of thing? Someone who could come out, cut it, drill it and re-tap the hole?

If I am thinking of the right piece you didnt even have to take it off for a rear disc conversion in fact the only thing that adjusts is your alignment.

As for fixing it I would have no clue that would be a big pita considering there is no way to get to that nut from the other side. I would open up the phone book and start calling around to some shops and see what they tell you.

You need to take a big hole saw, chuck it up in your drill, pull back your carpet, do a really good job of estimating where the nut is on the other side, and drill a 2-3" hole in the body from the inside to get at the nut. It is held in by some bracing, and if the nut rusts up at all, the bracing will let it turn. Once you have access to the nut, you can hold it with a wrench or some vice grips, and then when you're done, you can seal the hole back up with some duck tape, or if you're really ****, you can have it welded back up.

 

Ok, if all else fails try this. Take a screw driver and attemp to wedge it behind the (T bar and the body). Then once your done there begin the pull towards you. then with a tools try backing your bolt out now. If you can provide enough force it should allow the bolt to catch and back out. If this fails as a temp fix you can just undo the bolt that connects to the rear hub assembly and just leave that attached for now and the rest should cross over. I'm not 100% on this last part but I swaped over the 88 CRX rear end onto my 89 Civic. I totally need an alignment but hey with what was attached made it worth the time. Hope this helps.

This is one way of going about it and the other way that was said about applying pressure and trying to back it out is another but if all else fails and you dont feel like cutting your car up try to get a wizz wheel and cut the tip of the bolt off then use a drill to tap it out then a heli coil and retap the hole and you can go from there or find a local mechanic to came take a look........Good luck to you I hate broken bolts

 

I was going to retap it but because of where it is, the tap set i bought doesn't fit into that area. That's why I just wanna have a pro do it.

Is there such thing as a professional tapper?

 

Are you working on the toe control link? That little dogbone style arm that is at the very front of the trailing arm? Drill and tap won't work because what youare trying to drill and tap will turn with the tools you are using. If not, then fill your boots.

 

The actual problem is the toe control link from the integra was to small, had that bolted in and was trying to bolt the trailing arm up into the body. The bolts that hold the trailing arm into the body is what I messed up, and that's where the problem is.

 

Would a 2500 lbs metal to metal epoxy be strong enough to hold the bolts in??

 

No.

We need to see pictures of the area. I am having a hard time understanding exactly where this bolt goes.
