exhaust?
first off are there any 88 (i thinkthat was first year) to 91 civic folks out there...and if im not mistaked the crx's from that time have the same exhaust set up...anyway i am looking for a good cheep exhaust system for my 91 4dr civicLX. i was wonderin how much that was gonna cost me and if it adds much performance?
-thanks-
-thanks-
from what i understand the pace setter exhaust system [however cheap] is inexpensive
expect nothing from exhaust [exept a headach from some of the systems]
unless you have a relativly extinsivly built engine or a FI getup.
this way any gain would be a +!

either pace setter (really cheap like $150 for cat back) or go to a muffler shop and have them run a system for you.buy themuffler that you want and they will use that one. as far as gains go you will only see a few hp on the top- end and a loss of tq = to what you gained in hp.
Get a muffler shop to do some custom 2.5" piping and then just get a universal stainless steel muffler , that way at least it wont rust. Pacesetter is a piece of crap and i wouldnt use it to wipe my own ***. I have on on my car right now and its rusted to hell, im gonna try and salvaget he piping but only to save some cash, but the muffler part is being hacked off! My new 5zigen fireball is going on soon, stay tuned kiddies.
have a 91 EX 4 dr. sedan and had a muffler shop to do a 2.5 in exhaust which worked. Only thing is that I used a Dynomax Ultraflow in the usual perpendicular position (instead of a straight back type). But I had a turbo motor that made 309 HP detuned. For NA it will not make much diff, esp in an LX. Now I have a b16a and it still helps I think, but the power is near to double and LX.
If you want power in that you may have to go NOS and the motor may not last too long, or else go hybrid.....
