Default Fu@k I hate CA and the police!!!!!!

Yes I told you guys that I hold the record for police problems!!!!!
Yeah on my way home like 2 blocks away from my house, I got pulled over. I was in the far turn lane and I saw a cop flying up behind me. So I quickly pulled into the other turn lane so that I can pull into the parking lot after the turn. Anyway so he asked me to pop my hood, etc... awhile he called for other units to come to his location. Anyway so the cops were the coolest I have ever met. When the others cops came, they immeditally mention my JDM front, my C-westin eye lids, the bumper support, the stopTech rotors, etc... Yeah they actually knew their stuff! They even gave me tips on my engines performance by using NOS to cool the charger for track racing, etc... Anyway so they let me off kinda easy, but not really. He's sending me to the smog ref for my mods, but didn't get me for the test pipe. He also didn't get me for "speeding" and told me that he will write me up for and illegal lane change instead. He said that I can fight it since it was 2:00am and no other cars were around... *hint, hint*
They were totally cool besides sending to the smog ref which sucks. They kept going off how nice my car was and how they couldn't believe that I was able to get that kinda power out of the crappy JR blowers! hhahahaha
Anyway so I'm currently putting my stock exhaust on, etc... No biggie, just another hassle I will have to deal with.

-Mike the person with the worst luck with the police!!!!!!!!

I was pulled over on prospect rd. Luckily, he only gave me a fix-it for the exhaust and not a smog violation for the intake.

Wait, so you were you speeding or they just pulled you over just because?

My buddy had it worse. Several weeks ago we were tuning my car on a dyno. We got done at like 1:30 am. Close the shop up... my buddy was locking the gate so i drove on to the street first, he followed about 15 seconds later. We were both driving normally, no revving no nothing. He was less the _20 yards_ from the shop when a cop comes flying down from no where and pulls him over. Made him pop the hood, and sent him to the ref. What a ******* dick. We did absolutely nothing. Our cars are not loud below vtec neither. They just wanna hassle the street racers and if you drive a honda they automatically assume you're one.

yeah thats exactly what happened to me. THe cop said it sounded like I was speeding because he could hear my car coming since it was so loud. Crazy part it that I wasn't speeding. I was half asleep thinking of my nice comfortable bed. And I know better then to speed on a street with no other cars on it at 2:00am! Talk about sticking out like a sore thumb.

Hey and the crazyest part of all his badge number 1690 and the cop that pulled me over on the 13th for "rolling" a stop sign in our stick X5 with my family in the car on my dad's B-day was badge number 1691. Also the crazy part is that the cops from last night heard about the incident with the cops and myself from back in September when I was harrassed and arrested for "racing" when I was at a coffee shop. They told me that those cops still havn't got their badge's back from that. lol
Anyway yeah the exhaust is almost back on. Just finishing putting the stock header and cat on.

Man glad the smog police aren't out here in Ohio, we have nothing what so ever. Only thing we got is certain counties have E check where u have to have emissions checked every 2 years and only counties that have e check have to have a cat. the counties that don;t have e check can run what ever for exhaust.

Mike, did you noticed the circled "NO" next to the 4 violations? I think that means you can't have it written off by putting the stock parts back on. You will have to pay a fine for all 4 violations.

It looks to me like you actually had GOOD luck with that officer. Not only did he not cite you for speeding, he also hinted that you can fight the ticket based on circumstances. The smog stuff isn't something he has a choice about, he could have let you go for it, but had you been stopped again soon after, and cited then for those smog issues, it's unlikely, but POSSIBLE, that he may have had some explaining to do to his supervisor. He's not going to risk his butt for you or anyone else. It looks to me like you got off easy, and instead of pissing and moaning over it you should be appreciative that he cut you some slack. Realize that a police officer isn't an autonomous malevolent unit out for your personal destruction, but a person with people he has to report to, with very specific rules he must follow. Sure, there's some leeway in the way they can deal with certain things, but some issues are going to have no room for personal interpretation. Believe me, unless you're a MAJOR PITA (which you obviously weren't) to a police officer, it's never personal.

Cali cops are dicks, at least that was my experience when visiting my mom & sis that live in LB. Here in NYC we have "auto-crime" squads that know EVERYTHING about imports! Engine swaps, turbo's, gutted cats etc. Kinda sucks cuz 3 years ago you could get away with anything Honda related here in NYC, but now all these dam'n ricers screwed it up for everyone with their 20 second 4 door Civics!

this "knowledge" that they have may wind up screwing them in the end. I know in a lot of states, if there is misinformation on the ticket it is voided...I'm sure your registration specifically states ACURA as car make. If they took it upon themselves to write honda, you can have it thrown out as it was incorrectly written on your ticket. According to the DMV, you drive an Acura, not a Honda...

Again, I don't know if this applies in your state, but you should definitely check it out. You should be able to get it dropped....

Mike,

1st off know what your up against. Look up the VC your charged with @ http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/vc/vctoc.htm
27151 VC looks like a muffler ticket.
27156-B VC is written very vaguely. Read it carefully and understand it.
21658-A VC is subjective.
(a) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.
You may go after the definition of "resonable safety"

26101 VC you will have to prove your lights are not "...any device that is intended to modify the original design or performance of any lighting equipment, safety glazing material, or other device, unless the modifying device meets the provisions of Section 26104...."

Sectin 2104 states the equipment must meet the guidelines set by the state....

Any check it out read this stuff understand it. There are loopole there.

Good luck.

Been there several times. If you do go.. please say hello to CHP Kneeland Shes really kind, and knows me by name.

Gotten a few of those in my past days.

I had a 73 Capri with and ungly chrome bumper, all the Capri owers took them off. I would get pulled over and the cop would say. "I pulled you over for no front license plate. Where is it?"

"On my front bumper", I would reply.

He walks to the front of the car with a puzzled look on his face, and comes back and says, "Where's your front bumper?"

"In my garage.", I tell him.

He then would write a tix for no front bumper/plate. 1 week later I would drive down to the police station, with fixit in hand. Take the front bumper out of my passenger seat, wedge it in the hole on the front of the car. Walk inside and they would look outside see the car with the bumper & plate, sign off the tix. I would walk outside, pull the bumper out stick it back in my passenger seat and drive away.

This was a by anual ritual for me.
