99 Lude Radio Removal
Hey guys, trying to pull the radio out and get the code for it (friends car) and have no idea how to pull the radio or figure out the code (pretty sure I have to go to Honda for that). Can somebody hook me up??
Some honda dealerships will try to charge you for the radio code. But if you call this honda dealership, Lester Raines Honda: (304)-768-1251, they will not charge you. You need the serial # off the radio to get the code from them.
Cool, so I do actually have to pull the radio out of the dash to get the code. Anybody have directions to getting it out?? I know in my Civic I had to pull out a ton of crap I never would have thought to get the radio out.
well, to get the radio out, you just pull that panel off around the radio then there's like 4 phillips head screws, but for the code, find a dealership that won't charge you, give them your vin number and the serial number of the radio and they'll give you the code, sometimes the code is written on the radio too
what year is it, if the 5th gen, just pry out the black trim piece aroudn the radio and climate controls and the rest is easy.
yes, you will need to pull the radio out and then look at the code below the radio itself.
Good luck.

I used to work at a Honda Dealership. Most Places put the sticker with the Code Serial Number inside the glove box or under the fuse box in the engine. You give Honda this number and they email american honda who then responds with the 5 digit code.

That or they can take the radio with them to the dealer and read it off and the code comes out the same wayh you describe, as long as you have proof of the car being yours.
Damn untrusty honda bastards.

ya man i had to do that **** too last week when my battery died...DO NOT PAY THE DEALER MONEY TO TAKE THE CD PLAYER OUT FOR U!!!....u dont even need to take the cd player out in a lude....all u need to do is pop the lil plastic storage thing right under the radio with a flat head screwdriver...by wedging the sides and edges...once u get that out....ull be able to see the sticker with the serial number on the bottom of the cd player...and ull be able to read it if u look into where u took the plastic dash storage thingy out if u look sideways with ur head by the shifter...then just call the dealer and tell them the serial number and they give u the code...i know its a pain in the ***...but try that...good luck!!
