for those that did a e46 HID retrofit...

how did you get the ring of the base off the stock 9006 bulb?
do you just need the "three tab" ring to slip it over the xenon bulb?

You only need the 3 tab ring. I just used a hacksaw to cut it off and a Dremel to enlarge the ring to fit over the bulb.

did you just use epoxy to make it stick on the xenon base? or just made the ring large enough over the xenon base?
