hey, i have a 92 prelude si. how do i replace the rotor for the distributor? i got the cap off.. but i see no way of taking the rotor off. there is no screw that you unscrew.. the is this black cap that is acover.. how do i get that off.. if you guys know.. pls post it for me.. so i can get it done.. thx

 

rotate the engine and you will see a small allen screw that secures the rotor, remove that and take it off

 

you can just crank the engine quickly a couple times and eventually the screw will magically appear before you. And it's a phillips, not allen. And it's a bitch to get out - I couldn't get mine out, it is seized in there good

 

thanks guys.. that's what i did, just cranked it over once.. and then the screw was visable.. but thats the least of my worries. i had the philips screw to deal with.. after trying to get t out.. striping it.. i just broke the old rotor off, then i had room to use a vise grip at a different angle and was able to bust it loose.. thanks for the help though...

 

hmmmmm, i don't ever remember having to unscrew anything to
pull the rotor off the distributer

 

yeah mine has had the head of the screw break off on both my ludes
Wonder why they make it so freaking hard to get it out
