rear brakes help!! ned to compress piston*URGENT
We have the car (1999 Accord EX sedan) apart right now. . .and the new pads and rotors are on. but i cant get the caliper back on because i cant compress the piston to its most open state. ive tried using channel lock pliers, to no vail. This is very urgent., we really need to get this done within the next couple of hours!!!

you can get a universal caliper piston tool at a auto parts store. Or you can use a large flat head screwdriver to turn it in but thats a pia
thanks guys. about two minutes after i posted this, i called my bro, the master mechanic. . . and he gave me a quick lesson. All i had to do was turn it clockwise with a big driver. worked great. in the meantime, i was able to do a whole subaru legacy outback brake job. pads and rotors.

thanks for the help guys. and just so you know, Subaru brake are very much like our honda brakes. i was pleased o see this, as i had just finished the Accord job, and had never worked on a Scooby before. but pads and rotors on the Subaru only took about 2 hrs total. im pretty sore today though.
most auto zomes or comparable auto parts stores will rent you a caliper compressor tool. you usually pay a certain amount to rent and when you take it back you get that full amount back
