I'm sure its possible but why would you want to run the stock si intake ? Get a new intake before you get a mani. And if you still have the b16 stock cams in there, your not gonna notice a difference using the ctr intake.

I dont wanna go through relocating my battery because my crx gets a lot of water in the back when its wet. And there is not much of a difference in the diamter of crx si and b16 civic intake to make a difference.

I agree with you. In all of my Bseries Civic/CRX swaps, Ive used the Cold Air Intake made for the Civic/CRX. Sometimes its harder to fit the rubber coupler to the bigger throttle body of the Bseries, but just lightly oil it up and "squirm" it on there.

I've seen other people use some other intake that cleared the battery, but the geometry wasnt right to use the COLD AIR extension. Whats the purpose? They just lost some hp sucking hot underhood air.

COLD AIR is the key!

if you haven't yet bought the IM, you're better off with the Skunk2 than the ITR. The Skunk2 is a direct bolt on, no modification needed or clearance probs... just a heads up

I am using a stock 91 Si intake tube and box on my motor with a b16 intake manifold.

I was asking if anybody was using an aftermarket (aem) CAI for a crx si with a b16 and an ITR intake manifold.

I haven't bought the ITR yet, but i can get it for a decent price ($125). I read about having to get a fuel rail, FPR, and a the IAC? sensor because the hit with the itr mainfold. Does the skunk2 mani illiminate this problem?

dont know about the skunk2 manifold but the type r will hit against the IAT sensor unless you relocate the sensor or get a new fuel rail. also, you will need an IACV sensor from a 92-95si/ex, 94-97 dohc vtec del so or 96+ gsr

While you are at it, get a HONDATA Intake Heatshield gasket also!

The skunk2 is going to be your best choice as it has 2 mounting point for the IACV so it can accept your b16 IACV or the newer year unit. you will need to get a different fuel rail, i'm using the 99si fuel and i have nothing, but good things to say about the fuel rail. you will not need any spacers between the fuel rail and the manifold. if you do put the spacer on the injectors it will not sit completely, there will be a little gab. You will know what i'm talking about when you actually work on it.

Now to answer your first question about the CAI.
Yes, it will fit perfectly! I have the skunk2 manifold along with the aem CAI for the crx si.

remember the skunk2 manifold was built base on the type r manifold.
i have both of these manifold and sometime i can't even tell them apart.

So the only avantage really to the skunk2 is the use of the b16 IACV. But if i can get the itr one cheap enough, then i'll just have to find a newer civic IACV. I'll need a new fuel rail either way....?

Whats the HONDATA intake heatshield gasket for?
