Default jun type 3 cams questions?

is there any specific gen of jun cams that were bad ? or why do a lot of people talk bad about them, as in breaking wise? will they work well on a built b16 with ctr pistons? how high will they make power with proper intake manifold and valvetrain? does vtec kick hard with the type 3's? any info will help, THANKS.

Have seen and heard of many Jun 3 cams breaking, shattering into 4 pieces. Some think it's a bad batch, others blame installer error or coil bind. The fact is, some Jun 3 cams break, some seem to work without a hitch. I have not seen a definitive answer yet- i.e. " Jun cams produced from 7/99-3/01 that were produced in the Jun factory in Taiwan are prone to breakage. Since production began in the Jun factory in Okinawa, zero problems with the cams". This is a fictitious statement just to illustrate what kind of answer I have yet to see on the Jun 3 cam breakage issue. Jun 3's peak at about 8500 RPM.

From the charts of Jun 3's that I have seen, yes. They make power past 8500, but the peaks I have seen are from 8200-8600.

I ran Jun 3's in the race car had no problems, took the same set of the race car to my street car and broke the exhuast cam! So in my opinion I think that it could be different valvetrain that could cause the problem.
