Why is my transmission so hot
I just bought the car yesterday and after i have been driving and flooring it every once in a while and after about 45 min the shifter area and e brake area feel like 734894739 degrees. IS this normal or is there something wrong.
Thanks in advance

lift the car and check to see if the heat shield right underneath the shifter area was removed. I removed mine and it gets pretty hot sometimes..

It's probably not a big deal. If you are doing a good deal of shifting, you will notice some heat.
How's the clutch? If it is slipping, that would generate some perhaps abnormal heat.

You're asking why the tranny is hot? you must be used to RWD cars where the tranny is under the floorboard huh?
On FWD cars the only thing underneath is the shift linkage and exhaust pipe. The shifter is above the exhaust pipe, and well, hot air rises....
