turbo b16
All motor b16 Good luck

I never heard that vtec doesn't like turbo? Check out some of the threads (or even do a search) in the Forced induction section, and vistit the all motor section.

Turbo will ultimately be faster, so you just have to decide what the car is going to be doing the majority of the time, so that the power reflects what its designed to do. IE: track racing, drag racing, or even autocross.

I would go turbo over all motor. Its easier to go faster. But if you want to go all motor then go for it just look into a B20 bottom end

There is more of a claim to having an all motor car that trounces cars with larger engines than itself, or turboed cars.

Plus I have heard on many occasions that turbos are a lot of hassle because you have to keep them in tune more, and they also put you more at risk of blowing your motor.

No replacement for displacement. Turbos are the Swedish ***** enlargers of honda tuning.

Yes you have to tune your turbo car alittle more then your all motor car, but by the time you get an all motor b16 to hang anywhere close to a mild turbo b16, the all motor one is going to need as much if not more tuning / repairs then the mild turbo b16..

I know turbo's are a big investment . one big lump item vrs a bunch of small items that add up to more $ and less hp...

Although there is a certian amount of pride among the All motor guys( and I don't blame them) it takes alot of time/ effort/ knowledge/money to get a really good all motor setup going....

On the other hand it just takes some alot of money(about 3500) with someone else doing the work, or about 2600 and Doing it yourself( nothing feels as good as doing the wrenching yourself!) I haven't seen a daily driving all motor b16 with 0ver 200whp ever... I have seen alot of over 250whp turbo b16's running around town!

hondata s200 with boost 420
p28 ecu from hondata 250 (you can get this cheaper)
walbro intank fuel pump 100
550 injectors 200-500
youll also probly want a boost controller and some gauges to keep an eye on things

Too many noobs replying to this, good thing they pointed you the right way.

Turbo is one of those things wehre there is potential for problems (as with anything), but if put together properly and the boost is kept to resonable levels, you can have a lot of trouble-free turbo days. You can easially make 325whp with 8psi and a tune, where as I'd probably cut you a check for $50 if you could make 200whp with all-motor.

All motor B16 is a tough proposition. With the stroke and deck height, even with the high-domed B16B pistons, you might get your compression ratio to reach 11:1.... yay. Compression ratio is the foundation of an all-motor set-up, and unfortunatly, your B16 block won't yield a high CR.

exactly... b16s are fun to boost. to get any tq or hp out of all motor it will cost alot more to go n/a and it would be more likely to have problems. (assuming you dont buy a **** turbo kit)

One thing to keep in mind is that it is easier to make power on a turbo car and still have it reliable enough to be a daily driver. If you go all-motor, then you may start to sacrifice reliability and your gains will basically be limited to high RPM range.

It really isn't a matter of which is easier, just decide what you want to do with your car and more importantly are there things that you *NEED* to do with your car (i.e. get to work).

Depends on your purpose. I had a lot of fun with all-motor and got really good results from my b16 for being pretty stock, but now it's time for boost for me.

If you have access to a good tuning shop, turbo is the way to go.

Sounds like you're new to the whole turbo thing, so a kit would probably be best for your first attempt. Rev Hard Stage 2.
