I just got a new motor and was wondering if h22a was JDM-spec, I believe my other motor had h22a1. Thanks for any help.

 

H22A1 is the USDM...i think but H22A is the better shiznitz yo. if im wrong...sorry

 

You can easily identify JDM H22A engines because the blocks all have the stamp "H22A" regardless of production year or HP spec. Other sales territories like North America and Europe all had blocks stamped with "H22Ax", where x=some numerical digit.

exactly. 4 digit engine code stamped on the block = jdm
5 digits= not jdm

 

ok,, question on this real quick.. i had an H23a1 go out in my Si,, when i replaced it with another H23,, it was H23a on it. no number after that. dad stopped me from gettin the H22a.. so i should just check the digits to see if its jspec?

well my JDM H23 was a F22B motor, i'm not sure if there acutally is a JDM h23..but who knows?
