How to tell if motor is JDM-spec?
You can easily identify JDM H22A engines because the blocks all have the stamp "H22A" regardless of production year or HP spec. Other sales territories like North America and Europe all had blocks stamped with "H22Ax", where x=some numerical digit.

exactly. 4 digit engine code stamped on the block = jdm
5 digits= not jdm

ok,, question on this real quick.. i had an H23a1 go out in my Si,, when i replaced it with another H23,, it was H23a on it. no number after that. dad stopped me from gettin the H22a..
so i should just check the digits to see if its jspec?
