Propper launch RPM
i just got a gsr swap in my civic EX. Being that i have not fully adjusted from the huge torque and power differnce from the civic, i ma have trouble launching the car without excessive wheel spein and wheel hope. Does anyone know a good RPM to launch at?
I launch around 4200-5000
No set RPM will work just get used to the car and figure out what works best for it.
I know people that launch at 6000 with no wheel spin on street tires, I get spin even at 4000 usually... If you keep getting wheelspin, go lower untill you find a good range

Then whats the point of owning a car?
I agree, theres no way for us to tell you. Its just trial and error. Go out there and find out.

every car is different...suspension tires ...everything on your car makes it different....i used to launch at 2800-3500 and over here my friends are launching at 5 but i felt i did better with a lower launch...trial and error is the way to go ...
i would suggest starting at 2500 and working your way up...remember weight makes a big difference also

exactly.....you have to launch an actual gsr at 4200-48k. A civic with a c swap will be much less.

It was a joke dude, chill out.
Traction bars help alot. So do better tires.

Just curious... if you don't race, why did you even bother posting? To up your post count?
Anyways... I launch at about 4K

i should try that

I launch at 6,000 RPMs and don't feather the gas at all. My GS-R is dropped on some coilovers and I have some negative camber w/un-aligned wheels. I think the reason I'm able to do this is because I have Yokohama/Advan A-460's. I've never heard of them (they're not on the Yokohama website, and they came with the car...except for one stock michelin for some dumb reason) but they work hella good. When I dump the clutch at 6k, I catch traction around 7k or at least by redline. IMHO, I don't think wheelspin is always bad. I used to launch really low and catch traction low as well, but I'd always get taken off the line. Now I launch higher and usually inch ahead during the launch. Something you should try to avoid is bogging 2nd gear. If you're spinning too much in 1st, then feather the gas.
It's all about how good of a driver you are...Dropping the clutch at 5grand will make you spin your tires... Unless you are good with the clutch, it's easier to just start at like 4000 rpms... Then again if you have good ****** tires your set...

i launch at 4200 on my GSR.....but considering the weight difference because your in a civic, not sure if you would want to launch higher or lower........experiment with what you feel comfortable with.
