ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO.. I STARTED WITH A 91 T BIRD SC AND GOT TIRED OF
BREAKING DOWN ON A DAILY BASIS.. SO I WENT IMPORT.. I WORK AT AN ACURA DEALERSHIP IN NORTHERN VA.. ILL BE GOING TO ACURA/HONDA SCHOOL IN NOVEMBER.. SO WHEN IT COMES TO SPECS I DO VERY WELL BUT MY HANDS ON IS LIMITED.. I USE TO BE A BIKE TECH.. CARS ARE WAYYYY DIFFERENT..LOL

ANYWAY.. I JUST WANTED TO THANK ALL THE TECH MEMBERS FOR ANSWERING MY CALL.. TODAY ON MY WAY TO WORK.. MY B16A BACKFIRED AND DIED.. AHHHH NEW CAP AND ROTOR.. ROTOR MELTED INSIDE MY CAP.. SO I REPLACED IT AND STARTED HOME...4 MILES FROM WORK.. BOOM.. OUT AGAIN..
LEFT LANE ON RT 28.. RUSH HOUR AND NO WHERE TO PULL OFF..

WELL.. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU..KNOW YOU BLEW A DISTRIBUTER BEARING.. ROTOR WILL BE TWISTED ON ROTOR SPINDLE.. THIS WILL USUALLY HAPPEN DURING ACCELERATION... AKA AS SOON AS YOUR FOOT TURNS TO LEAD AND V-TEC POPS.. HESITATION AND BACKFIRE..

about the original topic with the dizzy bering going bad. it happened to me the same way but otherwise i was on my way home right around the corner, hit vtec in 1st to about 5500, then did the same in 2nd, put it in 3rd to coast and it decelerated and when i added gas popping and backfireing. I thaght I blew the b16 up. thank god some guy on Ebay is hooking it up with brand new dizzy's for cheap! awesome craftsmenship.

 

umm mine let out a poot and a sputter but i was idling really low and well mines a d15b1 let me know if this qualifies... it wont crank now
