A few days ago, I was working in the garage late. I was in the house for a while, and when I came back out, some strange guy was looking at my R! I said "Can I help you??" The town I live in is very small and quiet, and having someone in my driveway at this time of night is very strange! He said "Oh, Im just checkin out your car...Pretty cool!" I responded with "Well, I am getting ready to LOCK it up for the evening" and proceeded to arm the alarm graphically!

I haven't been able to put the car in the garage for a few weeks now because of stuff being in the way. Tonight I went outside to get something out of the R and waved my arms at my motion sensor lights as normal. They didn't come on. I thought, well maybe I accidentaly turned off the switch. Nope! Someone unscrewed both floodlamp bulbs!

Needless to say! I spent the rest of the night clearing out the garage and MAKING the R fit! It is now safely asleep in the garage, alarm armed, pager ready, garage door padlocked from the inside...And my Mossberg pump next to the bed!

Really sorry to hear it man... I dont' mean to sound like a downer, but you had better keep it under raps for a while. "They" will keep checking back and I'm sure "they" won't give up.

Hey how about putting some heavy duty chains on the rims with will lock on.... Chains cover to protect the finish of the rims of course.

What's up with this crap??? I really think a wireless mini cam is at need here. I saw this website (www.x10.com) and they have all sorts of wireless cam for the house. It's good for 100ft and has motion sensor for on/off recording. Anyone have this yet?

 

I have my entire house automated with stuff from x10.com and smarthome.com.
I can sit on the sofa and control any light in the entire house with my tv remote.
The x10 cameras are cool! I have approximatly 10 of them in and around the house. Being that I am on a cable modem, (Connected all the time) I can monitor/interface with my house through the net at any time! Cool stuff! and cheap too!

 

The best protection against thieves is having your Pit-Bulls sleep in the garage .

Yes the cameras come with power supplies. They are also addressable, so you can switch them on and of at will.

 

I would have slept inside the car with the shotgun. Hehehe...try to steal it now.

I'll second that....although I have a possibly interesting social experiment. Put such a dense population of thieves on that island that they will have an abundance of property and belongings to steal. Only as time passes, the thieves will get sick of being robbed every night and will come to a conclusion: It is necessary to kill the thieving bastards, thereby eliminating the entire population!!
