Default my Dyno Day Results

I may have covered this in another thread, but for those of you who like to heckle me, here is another opportunity. I went to the dyno this weekend at ACS Racing in MA. There were a lot of H-T guys, mostly DFH. Lots of fun. My best run was 171.4hp and 124.7tq. I lost my plot so I don't know the exact rpms. My mods are: Comptech Icebox w/filter, and thanks to Sonic, my timing was advanced to 18 degrees. This was my first dyno run, so I can't say exactly how much power I gained over stock. However, I am definitely down on oil, I'm about 1000 miles overdue for my oil change. So once I do that, and clean my filter, there might be another hp or two in there.

Your #'s look good!! Not bad for just intake and some free timing advancements!

Thanks,

Thanks Vic. My car knows I am a shitty driver so it's making more power to compensate Having seen those #'s, I am glad I bought the Icebox. I may lose a few peak hp to the AEM, but my torque at the wheels is like 10 more (I think?) than stock R's usually put down. That's a decent gain IMO and well worth the 200 bucks.

George,

I had no idea that the 00-01's dyno'd so low. That makes me even happier I guess. This is a very strong example of an ITR and I am thankful for it.

Scott from PA (Aleph) has the same underhood mods as I do (Icebox and timing advance) and he gained 5 whp from the timing alone...you may want to do this also.

If you are seriously considering the Icebox, feel free to take my car for a spin. I have been in many Rs with AEM and the big cam kicks in much more suddenly, whereas the Icebox builds power in a much more linear fashion from a lower rpm. Because of the increased torque (I am guessing I have around 150 at the crank) the car does not bog as easily, which was a nice thing when coming out of the Jefferson complex in 3rd gear.

Hope this helps.

Very funny George.

I checked with Mike - the dyno I got those results from was in fact a Dynojet. Don't want to sound immodest but now I am a bit impressed. Now go get that Comptech Shitbox!
