Default Stupid stock tape deck not working; anyone else encounter this?

Hey all. I bought the add-on tape deck for my '99 Civic HB not that long ago and all it does is take tape in, spin a couple of seconds and spit them back out. It looks like it's in OK shape which obviously isn't a great indicator. Did Honda's have a problem with this? Trying to decide if it's something worth fixing or should I just junk it?

Many thanks,

Greg

If it works on your "tape deck" you can try it on your Beta max!

Set down the tape player and walk away slowly, nobody gets hurt.

Give up the ghost man. Welcome to 2k3.
