Default gas in oil, pulled valve cover off and it REAKS of gas....

the car runs like crap, i've fouled out 2 sets of plugs w/ in a week. The head was p&p and the intake manifold and throttle body were portmatched. It's a b18a in a 90 civic hatch si. I'm about to swap in another stock head just to c but any sugg. would help out. (92 ls block, 96 ls head and manifolds)

Sounds like either the injectors are leaking or the program has it running super rich. What injectors, what fuel pressure? Fix it fast, you are not doing the cylinder bores any good washing all the oil off like that.

do a leakdown on your engine
it sounds like the valve stem seals are bad...

And how will a leakdown indicate bad valve stem seals? Last I checked a leakdown test is done with the valves closed which seals the combustion chamber off from the seals and ports.

Bad seals would cause oil to leak down the valvestems and into the intake and exhaust streams and cause increased oil comsumption and smoking.

My guess is that one or more injectors are not closing properly and dumping way too much gas into the engine. He could also have oversize injectors or the fuel pressure too high causing overfueling. Also possible, but less likely, is that the computer has a program that is set up for a motor that needs more fuel than his and dumps in too much gas.

When u desellerate does ur car buff oil?? Cause when u are under deseleration u are under vacum. Other wise honda motors are bad for valve seals my engine when i was reving to 9,200 went through stem seals every 2 to 3 months. As for ur engine oil smeeling like gas change that **** fast thats a good way to cause engine and bearing failure. U might be runing too rich and u are just flouding the motor

def. flooding the motor, the car barely gets out of it's own way, it'll move at about 1/4 throttle but will just buck at anything more then that. Stock Ls injectors, brand new stock civic fuel pump, fuel filter and stock Ls fpr. hmm, also the pistons were installed backwards. DOn't know how this happend all i know is i get ALL my money back from the guy that built it and will have to rehone the cylinder walls and get new rings. luckily i also have a crx w/ a sohc vtec in it i just got running.

that was most uneducated post of the month

to me it sounds like you have a leaking injector... valve seals have NOTHING to do with fuel getting in your oil.....

are you sure all your plugs are firing? When you take them out are they all bad or is one still looking new? I had a problem where one of my cylinders was not firing and it would back fire and buck therefore gas was just leaking out of the injector in. Just another thought.. Either way change the oil, running it like that is going to screw lots of stuff up.. your running gas through your engine!

Check your wires, plugs, and injectors. But I think you have a stuck/bad injector that's why the fuel can get into your oil. I'm glad you found out fast, if not you might need a whole rebuild. This could cause bore wash and throw bearing.
