Default Brand New Stage 3 Clutchmaster....won't disengage...whats goin on?

Alright guys...heres my problem. I just installed a Stage 3 Clutchmaster and lightened fly about 2 months ago...and it has been working great up until about a week ago. Now...the clutch doesn't seem to want to disengage, really hard to get into gear, and if I have the clutch pedal full depressed I can still feel the clutch catching just a bit. A friend told me that if i put the clutch in backwards...this could be the cause...but I know I couldn't have been that stupid, and I'm tryin to aviod droppin the tranny again to find out. What do you guys thing? Maybe a master/slave cylinder problem? Thanks guys

Anybody have similar problems and turned out it wasn't the clutch...it was the hydrolics?

check the master/slave cyl.
The clutch cant be put in the wrong way, it wont fit
it could be your pressure plate

My friends and I had problems with the CM clutch but it was a stage 4. Same problem but in our case the clutch doesn't disengage when shifting in high rpm's mostly during racing the pedal just gets stuck and pops back-up after a few seconds. But during normal driving condition it's fine. DEFECTIVE CLUTCH! Call up clutch masters that's want I did. They'll take care of you. btw I had disc that broke as well from cm.

Alright guys, got another problem for ya...I was getting ready to drop the tranny again and started thinkin...why isn't the clutch grinding when I have to force it into gear if its not disengaging? Once again...heres everything from the start. Go to get into my car...won't start...car isn't recognizing that clutch is disengaged. Went through the test of ignitions system and clutch bypass switch as helms describes...everything works fine...so i just rigged up a switch straight from the battery to the starter. Still runs...but clutch engages right at the floor...a day later..still engaging right at the floor...but won't go into gear...it takes everything i have to force her into gear...but without any grinding. Once again...any help would be greatly appreciated

Try replacing the slave cylinder. They do go bad. I had mine stick on my hatch, and it kept the pedal on the floor.

Buy a new one and try it first!!! Make sure to bleed the system after install!!!

I know what is wrong.............

I have already replaced 4 CM clutchs for this. (yes i did say 4)

The Small spings on the inside of the disc have came apart. or they are fitting very loosly inside of the disc. and this causes a no disengagement problem.

I have seen this about 5 times now. i will never use a clutch masters clutch ever.

ACT doesnt seem to have this problem.(this is what i have replaced them all with!!)

Yep sounds like clutch disc springs. I've had this happen to me twice. Once a clutchnet clutch with 15k mi on it no less!

alright guys...just an update...pulled the transmission this weekend and clutch is fine...I'm assuming itz merely a hydraulic problem now...sucks finding that out by dropping the transmission..but oh well. I've had a friend say that he thinks it could possibly be the tranny...I don't wanna believe that though...anyone else have some input? Thanks guys

Any ideas guys? I was thinking maybe it had something to do with the clutch line...since the clutch fluid becomes discolored rather quickly after bleeding...so I ordered a braided stainless steel line...any more suggestions?

Your car has more problems than your clutch. As long as the clutch pedal is pressed (Doesnt matter if you removed the clutch slave/master cylinder) the motor should crank over.

Your problem is definately your CM clutch. Try this next time it is hard to get into/out of gear:
1. turn off the motor
2. shift it into any gear
Does it go in smoothly? If yes, get rid of your CM clutch. Either the springs/spring retainers on the disk is/has come loose OR the pressure plate spring broke.

But from what your describing, a piece from the disk broke off and sometimes lodging/dislodgin in between the disk and pressure plate explaining why sometime you can get it into gear.
