Default Atlanta/Stone Mtn Grillout/Helen Meet Pics !

A great time was had by all today at our meet. We had 6 black ITRs, 2 PY ITRs, an RSX-S, and a few Civics too. The weather co-operated and stayed nice and sunny. We met up, had grub, bs-ed and then a few up us when up to blast thru the twisties in north GA mountains. Everyone was real cool and a big to Sean (Cosworth) for organizing the whole thing! Here are a few pics I snapped along the way:

The lineup of rides

Red valve covers!

Wings

The gang

The open road beckons

The last pic I could take before things got too curvy!

The cooldown after the backroad blasting

I for one had a great time! It was nice meeting everyone, and hopefully next time we can have an even greater turnout, we need ATL meets more often!

My overall rating for the whole day.

Meetup at North Dekalb Mall Thanks to Ken and his Open Header Exhaust which set off a few car alarms as we drove out...big

Stone Mountain Park I had fun meeting everyone, but it was tooooooo HOT! and stoopid cops harassed us!

Drive to Helen Man this is the suckiest part of the day...talk about BOOOOORING! constant...Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...LoL

The Twisties and another set of I had the most fun ever...this is something I will remember for the rest of my life. There's always a first for everything. so uh...guys...keep my little secret...

Drive home...LoL... Man...that was even more fun...LoL

My after thoughst...

TJ is CRAZY.
Mark is CRAZY.
Sone is CRAZY.
The guy driving the Civic is CRAZY.

The guy in the Accord with Clears (not in our group) is just plain FALKING STUPID!

um...I'm glad I wasn't driving on the way back...I got me a nice long nap...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well it was nice meeting everyone and I too agree that we should have more get togethers...

Oh...I forgot...Erics go quite a story to tell us about his car... LoL...Hope you get everything worked out...

Man, I had a blast today. The weather was perfect, people were awesome and drivve was great. I'll try to post some pics that are different from Stephen's (Jetydosa)

The only bad parts were: Eric couldn't make it in his car. (Tacked w/ Jason) , and the Civic driver passing a Caravan on the right shoulder. That just gave 7 ITR's a bad name..

Overall, we definitely need to have quaterly or half-annually have ATL meet.

Hey Sean,

About Eric, I think I have a theory(someone helped me out here...forgot who) about why his car breaks down all the time. You see the day before every event he tells his mom about it. His mom has a remote control detonator device.

For instance today, the tiny little explosive was placed on his map sensor. With the flip of a switch his High Performance Hytech Integra was left stranded like a helpless domestic owner. Luckily he has a "Powered by Chevy" sticker on the back of his hatch.

As far as the civic passing on the right shoulder, I probably missed that one, but that little high speed chase after our run was un-called for. I was yelling at Sone to "Slow down"...I guess everyone got the picture when they saw someone get pulled over...

I had a blast though. Shane (kengs) is a cool guy for his age. j/k...he's cool. I wish he could take me on his little trips he has to like Beijing and Tokyo and stuff...LoL

Stephan I'm sorry you couldn't take any more pictures of the drive... Maybe putting down that camera was a good idea afterall

later guys...

GOSH!!!!!!!!! Where do I start...well the morning started w/ hacking up my exhaust and putting on the new Hytech...approx. 2:30AM by the time we finished....BTW Jack aka B18CXR and Jason aka DARTH VADER showed up approx. 12:00AM due to drug bust traffic in SC. j/k..but who knows...well finally get to bed...wakt up 8:00AM...get the crew together...it was Jack and I in my "Special Edition", Jason in his "Special Edition" <we are currently organizing a show/race team called Team SE...see applic. @ the bottom of the post...j/k of course>...and my buddy Mike in His g/f's SI aka SHOW *****...so we go to wash the cars and after get a bite at the local McD's...
So on we go to meet the "southside peeps" at the varsity...on the way...the car's throttle response just goes to shiet on the Lakewood access road...so where do I park the car...in the middle os merging lanes so jack gets in the car and barely makes it to the other side...<approx. 9:45 AM>
so check everything, and Jack believes it's heat related...and believes it may be from the MSD ign. or the MSD coil...so off we go to Barnett Perf. spent 170 bucks in parts...and guess what...YEP your right...car still poopin out...so Mike suggests that it may the igniter...so call Rob aka ApexiGSR to meet me up and get me a spare distr., but he won't be able to meet up till 2-3 hours later...so *** it...we ditched my car on the side of the free way and head up to meet everyone up at Stone Mountain...<I must say it was very enjoyable to ride to stone mountain in some very nice and comfy JDM recaros...BTW I must have sweated 5 lbs of myself in them...sorry Jason>....
So we finally get to Stone Mountain...BTW very nice meeting everyone and yes we must do this again....when my car is running haha ...take pictures hang out...so Hurrel shows up aka Apexi ITR and part of us go to the Hills and Ken aka BlackR, Jack, Jason, John aka DC2 something <---sorry, Mike, Hurrel <----w/ his family, go back to my car and meet up Rob....Rob shows up and Jack w/ Nurse Jason and many helping hands change out the ignitor...DOH!!...no good...so we are all baking in the sun tryin to figure out whats the dilly w/ my car...so hour later, we all give up....MUCHO thanks to John for the free AAA tow, but the 1st tow truck was not a flat bed and almost hits my header, he did BTW hit my front chin spoiler, and I was about to kick some *** if he hit my header, plus the guy had a bad attitude and all of H/T members their were about to pull a crazy Icy Hot Stuntaz drive by on his punk ***....haha....so we wait for another tow truck...and again many thanks to Ken, Hurrel, Jack, and Jason <whom I feel REAL bad...and very thankful for their help...b/c I went to go visit up in NC and had a blast and I was hoping to return that favor down here >, John, Mike, Hurrell+family...Rob and his wife...so as we wait...a wreck happens down from where we were all camping out....during this wrestless time...Hurrell and his wife were folllowing the stupid example of the Hero guy, by waling/running across the freeway ...cops slow down and speed off...random people honk...and finally a cop pulls over, and looks at ken's tag and gives him a ticket...so finally the tow truck gets there...jack and jason get on their long drive home...again my bad for the bumness...and Ken and John go back to their side of town...again thanks guys...so my car is put onto a long bed and the header misses hitting by 2 inches...and yes i almost had a heart attack...so i'm sitting shock gun on the wrecker and my car is being escorted by a GSR, SI, and a R hybrid...not bad eh...and go home drop the car off...BTW we had to take the front bumper off...member that one PAT aka TightSI...so we get home...thankful that my mom wasn't home or else she would have had my ***...and took the bumper out of the rear and slapped it back on....we all went to Ruby's to eat and thanks again for dinner Hurrell and family...and I had a drink there too..whoo hoo...yes i'm a cheap date...so as of now, i'm sharing this story before i go out and try to get laid...sorry again guys and thanks...and I hope to have all the bugs worked out by Nopi....or sooner than that i hope...Eric

Eric, there's no need to apologize. We all Understand.

Anyways, I'm sorry I couldn't be there to lend a helping hand. Mark was begging us to ride up with him, who couldn't resist. Anyhow, my nextel (supposedly the best one out there) decides to give me no service. Hence...I didn't get your message about the tow truck until later on. (Around 9) My apologies. But we still stand behind you with support, just give me a call. We have access to a lift and some fine selection of tools. (MAC tools though...sorry no Snap-On at this shop)

I hope you get the problem straightened out. I was anxious to see how your Hytechs look and was kind of dispointed that this had to come up. Oh well...it's like you said, "Learn from your mistakes." So that means next time we ever go on a trip, remind me to bring extra spark plugs, ECU, Ignitors, Blaster Coils, Hytech Exhaust, B18C5 motor, Complete Snap On Tool Set, A tow truck to follow us around, and a big Rig to store all the extra items. I bet you won't get stranded this time.

I was a bit worried about the safety of you guys though. You shouldn't be running around in "Atlanta Traffic." LoL...

But I wish you best of luck getting everything straightened out. I had a little too much fun near helen. But I learned something to day...slow in...fast out. Not Fast in, trail brakes, drift, and slow out...LoL

I'll see ya later man.

PS.

<<<<<<--------JEEEEEEEeZZZZZ....I didn't know I had that much post.

Thanks to Sean (Cosworth) for making this happen

Eric, sorry to hear about your car, maybe you need to ditch the MSD and just go NGK Power Cables & Iriways Anyways, maybe we can hook up at Sushi Yoshi sometime.

Patrick, had a blast on the way to Stone Mtn. Hope the CC Lemon has worn off by now

Len, nice to meet you at last. Your bro is way cool - you are a lucky guy. Let's meet up for pho sometime man!

Emmett, the RSX looks fantastic, ditto the SSR Type Cs

TJ, thanks for the brochures - I can't believe I asked you for the RSX brochure for my wife (I should've said MDX! ); she saw it and said WTF?

Big thanks to TJ and Ken for letting me ride with them! It was cool to hang out with all of you. I never thought I would get a tan on the side of freeway...Eric-hope you get your car running soon; that header is bad ***. I suggest looking at all those FC wires with a fine tooth comb or just toss that MSD.

Neither of my cell phones like accepting incoming calls from GA, so if anyone needs to contact me, email me or AIM me at M3sport.

Here's a link to an index of my old car (sold before it got jacked!!!) pics:

It was great to finally have the chance to meet everyone I see on the board so often. Special thanks to Sean (Cosworth) for setting this whole meet up, and to Eric (NAB20C5) for letting Jack (middle finger man B18CXr) and myself crash Friday night. It was great seeing Ken (Black R) and Patrick (TodaCivic) again. Even though the weekend didn't quite go as planned for us, we had a great time being able to meet everyone and hang out. Looking forward to NOPI!

BTW...

Drive from Charlotte to Atlanta Friday night totaled 6.5 hours

Drive from Atlanta back to Charlotte last night totaled 3.75 hours

Ok here we go:
Great meeting everyone! Thanks to Sean for putting everything together...it was
a blast.

Eric: Sorry about your car (again) but you'll have it up and running in no time!

Shane (kengs): DOH! Hit me up on IM and I can mail you out a MDX brochure if you like....nice car BTW!

Jack and Jason: Nice to meet you...Jason: thanks for letting me sit in those JDM
Recaros....VERY NICE!!!

Emmett: glad you like the roads in Helen....good to see that RSX in action...looks great!. Let me know how you did at the auto-x today.

Trey and Tony: good to see you both again...we'll have to make a mountain run soon!

Len: Glad you and your bro came to the mountains...I know its a LONG drive, especially when only doing 80 the entire way...but with 7 cars you gotta keep it
slow so everyone stays together. Sorry about the highspeed runs on the way home...unfortunately...thats my nature...im sure you know that about me by now...but when we get on the highway, me and Marc (and Craig when he has a car) always do a bit of speeding thats our vice i guess.

On the way home thru Gwinette we had some runnings with a 4th Gen Prelude and a 95 Legend coupe who kept wanting to run us....it was fun....got it on tape too!

Pat and Sean :glad you came to the mountains... we'll have to go again when you get your car running Pat. We really need to find some roads like that closer to home.

Stephen: glad you came up to the mountains with us..we defantely have to do it more often.

I know im missing some others....sorry, but it was a blast to share with all yall the road that seems like it was built for the R!

All in All a great time...and my Kumhos preformed nicely only having about 100 miles on them! great tire for only $60!

MAN,
I wish I could have made it up there! I didn't get out of work until after midnight Friday night and then I was(is) on weekend telephone standby! Of course I didn't get called in on Saturday! Hopefully I will get to make it up to NOPI or something before I move to Okinawa.
Thanks for the invite!

RSX-S owned by Emmett performed just about same as our (mostly) stock ITR's at the mountain runs. He was right there with the ITRs in front of him. He did mentiong his tires, (kumho 712's, being squirmy towards the end of our 1.5 hour mountain run. I'm sure he will tell us his views of RSX-S when you checks this thread. And, no, we didn't drag the RSX-S vs. ITR... we can't give away the answer.

I had an incredible time meeting and hanging out with everyone. Hopefully you have room for an S in your R crew . Yeah, I hung pretty well with the stock ITRs, the midrange torque in my car is a major advantage. I couldn't keep up with TJ at all though, I have much work to do! Today was my first SOLO II event, and I placed 3rd in the novice class with a 64something. Not fast, but I'm very happy with the time for my first event. Thanks to everyone, especially Sean for setting everything up, we definitely need to do it again soon!

Following ArcticFreeze(Emmet) was a pain...He kept throwing up rocks and I so bad wanted to pass him. But his RSX held pretty good. I was surprised, but there is a room for an S in the R crowd with my first impression. I can't imagine how well the R will be when it comes out. Insane...Emmet...I like your car man.

TJ(RatedR)...I was scared for our safety that's all...I'm a little picky about where to speed and where not to...LoL. I did get a photo of the Speedo at 130...hehehe. It was fun driving and stuff...but I got scared when that Accord was dashing between two cars on a two lane highway. That was stupid, course he wasn't with us. It's all good dood, I know you and I know that you are very experienced. I just didn't want anyone to get hurt or get a ticket that's all. I'm like a concerned 50 year old father like Kengs...LoL...j/k. Oh and your girlfriend is CUTE! LoL...

Cosworth(Sean) thanks for the hookup. If it wasn't for your dedication we wouldn't have been successful. Those HIDs look badass on the way home by the way.

TodaSi(patrick) sorry you couldn't enjoy the roads...I guess Sean was being stingy with the R...LoL I can't wait to see those upside down pics you took of me...LoL

Ken(Black R) Oh man...having to see your car engage VTEC was amazing. The sound was awesome. Even at idle with that putter like a V8 sounds gorgeous. It's a beautiful car. You turned a few heads on our way out of North Dekalb's Parking lot...

There are a couple of people whom I forgot their names.

The guy with the Black R that lives very close to North Dekalb Mall. Well I had fun chatting with you while the boys enjoyed the sun...LoL. Too bad you couldn't make it to the Mountain Roads.

The guy with the Other Black R that cruised with us on the Way home...Not Sean...I enjoyed your company and as well as the conversation. I apologize if my bro threw some rocks at you when you were following us on our way back...LoL

Thats cool...i completely understand...

Yeah rocks were flying up all over my car too...oh well....my front end has been thru hell anyways...so no biggie.

I was running the same tires as Emmett....the Kumho 712's..a great tire but we both only have like 100-200 miles on them...so they havent really been broken in yet...but they held decent....and squealed at their break point which was good to know when to get out of the throttle...

Oh and thanks for the compliment on the girl I brought...I wish she WAS my gf.

It's cool man...I was too busy recovering from the mountain blast to have noticed anyway. I was glad to have met you and your brother...you guys are both really cool to talk to. It's funny how other yellow cars (Mustangs, Preludes, Motorcycles) like to check your car out while I hang back and nobody notices me...damn stealth-mode Black LOL! The "Sunset Ride" back was the perfect ending to the day!

TJ(RatedR)...it was good to meet you and the atlantaimports crew...you guys have some wicked cars! BTW...I jealous of your Mugen lowdowns now...they make your car handle like nothing I've ever seen.

ArcticFreeze(Emmet)...the RSX-S was sweet...I didn't think I'd have an opportunity to see one anytime soon...definately a sweet car (especially those rims and tires).

Ken(Black R) Your car sounds sooooo wicked...you have the distinction of becoming the first road-going vehicle to have ever set off my alarm LOL. That vtec blast going to Stone Mtn was awesome!

Cosworth(Sean)...thanks for organizing the meet and all of your help...I had fun from beginning till end. Your HID's do look awesome at night...I'm kicking myself now for not getting in on the group buy. I'm going to also kick my brother for not coming with us too...(Like we needed more black ITR's anyway)

I enjoyed the crazy guys in the White Civic (forgot your names)...you made the trip back interesting to say the least. For everyone else I forgot to mention...it was great meeting you.

Randall

Very nice! Just wanted to say sorry I couldn't make it out to meet you guys. We already had a trip to Deal's Gap planned for this weekend and we left Atlanta Saturday afternoon. I thought I'd have time to swing by and at least say hello but it just didn't work out that way. Next time definately!

Thanks to Sean (Cosworth) for the planning and organizational skills! It was cool to finally meet you guys. I just wish I had old red there but I guess Nopi will have to do. I didn't know there were so many peeps from the board in Atlanta. We def need to do that more often. Maybe just do a Helen drive and stop at Vogal State park for a cookout/ bag lunch break. I love that part of the mountains, the roads that is.

See you guys at Nopi....

Thanks guys for a good turn out. It wouldn't have happened if we were all not there. Now, since I'm back at work w/ fast connection, some shout outs:

Shane - nice to finally meet you. I have your catalogs that you left at the meet. Just let me know and I can drop it off somewhere whenever you need it. (how about Sushi Yoshi? you think I can tag along w/ you and Eric?)

Trey - good to meet you. It's been about a year since I've been e-mailing back and forth and it was a pleasure to meet the "Iron Chef". Hope to see your sick ride at Nopi and around the town.

Len - Thanks for the relaxing drive through the mountains... damn it go faster. j/k I hope you won't seel your Pull-me-over Yellow typeR. Your brother was cool as hell. Oh yeah, are my HID's aimed too high?

Jeff, Stephen, Randall - nice to meet all of you at the mall and the meet. We've definitely got a black typeR squad going.

Emmett, Ken - how did your autoX go on Sunday? Both your cars were doing great at the event. I've gotta learn from the masters at the next autoX meet. Oh yeah, nice exhaust Ken.

TJ, Mark - good to meet the baddest drivers from the SouthSide. TJ, your ride is dope sitting on that Mugen lowdowns. Mark - your S/C gs-r is sweet. It definitely would hand me my a$$ on the straights. TJ - whatcha mean that isn't your gf? Trying to fool us.

John - glad you could join us. Hope you had a good time meeting the peeps from ATL.

Tony - I like your Spoon-ed ride. It's very nice... only wish I had money to deck out my car like yours.

Jason, Jack - Thanks for coming out to the meet. It was nice to meet some NC folks. Jack - you definitely know your chicken... haha. Jason - hope you get your spec B's put in soon.

Eric - I was so looking forward to a CW ITR. Man, hope you got your car rolling again. Let us know when you get it all sorted out.

Those that I missed - sorry, I'm bad with names. Glad to meet everyone and hopefully we can have another meet sometime soon in the future. We should definitely try Trey's idea of Helen followed by BBQ pigout!

[Edit] Dude, Patrick, I forgot you on the first write-up. It was great having you as a co-driver. I've gotta definitely check out both Toda and Jun. Give me a holler when you get your car up and running. [/Edit]
