All Motor Basics on a D16Z6
I will be rebuilding a D16z6 engine for the next couple of months.
Swap is not an option at this point.
I want to know,
1. Should I start with Head work first..ie, Port/Polish, 3-angle, valves/retainers/springs.
2. Should I start from the bottom end first, sleeves/pistons/rings/bearings/rods..
3. Or should I start at the basics, I/H/E/TB/Intake Manifold...???
I want to get a plan going here. I will initially have nearly $2k to start with, then a little bit at a time.
Since Winter is approaching here in Ohio, Im thinking that the best thing to do would be the basic I/H/E/TB/IM, and then buy the stuff for the head and bottom and wait till the suns gets out to do hardcore **** in April?
thanks for any advice, a B series is not an option, unless you think that I can do it for less than $2500...
I thought about F/I, but really, it would cause more damage than good, the car has 78k miles on it, and it would be rather wise to do the motor work first.
thanks
