Default clutch problem...comes and goes...confused

Ok i have no clue whats going on with my clutch. First time this happened i was almost completely out of fluid, 2nd time had plenty of fluid but clutch was enganging right off the floor so i blead it and it was fine for a week. Now it happend again and have plenty of fluid so i bleed it once again. still same thing happens clutch is enganging just off the floor. Then all of a sudden clutch is fine and grabs about halfway. I also have pedal pressure the whole way instead of only halfway.

i'm changing out the master cylinder first then see what happens. I hope i don't have to take out my tranny again. I just replaced the throw out bearing a few months ago.

If you're going to the trouble to replace the master cylinder (which is most likely part of the problem--they all leak) go ahead and do the slave cylinder too...that way you won't have to screw with it again...

Good luck!

i got a new master cylinder but havn't changed it yet. I still having the trouble but it goes away when i drive the car. If the car sits for like a few hrs the clutch enganges right off the floor.

check the clutch fluid lines all the way to the tranny from the resivor. and make sure they are tight.

I had the same problem, and it was caused from my friend not tightening the clutch lines where it attached to the rubber hose just off the slave cyl.
