Distributor wooooohs..?

Default Distributor wooooohs..?

i have 90 Dx and im getting no spark.. i put a buddies dizzy from his 91 dx and my car runs fine, so im assuming my dissy is bad. what exactly goes bad in the dizzy for it to stop working?.. ALSO will a distributor from a 90-91 crx si 1.6 work on a 90-91 Dx motor?

I would start with replacing the cap and rotor. Cheapest fix, and it definitely could be that.

Go to Ebay get one for $30 to $50 shipped, you need dissy 1.5 from 88 to 91. that is what you need, dont throw youe money on something else, i had same problem.

you can make a SI work in a pinch... If its free and available use it. Unpin the plugs and swap them. The 2 sensor a DX uses are the same color and config as a SI. The SI only has the CPS just dont plug it in. Like you would have enough room in the square 5 wire plug

before going out and buying another dist, change the coil.

yeah before spending money needlessly swap the coil and ignitor from your friends dizzy ONE at a TIME. NOT both at the same time. This should narrow down the problem. Unless the shaft seized, I can't see a dizzy going bad. It's solid state. look for loose or broken wires or connectors BTW. And use Di-electric grease.
