Clutch engaugement problem in 89' hatch
I swapped a D16Z6 motor into my hatchback. The tranny worked great over the least year. I used the 93' flywheel and clutch with the 89' DX tranny.
I can put the shifter in any posiition and let out on the clutch pedal but the car doesn't move at all, but the rpms drop like 200rpms max.
I tried adjusting the clutch cable b/c the pedal was really limp at first but after I adjusted it it went back to noraml. I tried adjusting it in like 10 different places, to no aval..
SO... I pulled the tranny ( very fun ), and I need to know what to look for...
ANY HELP or COMMENTS are more than welcome...

Look for a worn out clutch disc and or pressure plate. Sounds like you have a slipping clutch. Remedy: Buy a new clutch set with throw out bearing and pilot bearing.
The D16z6 motor drove the wrecked donor car home after the crash. i used the same clutch and persure plate. But thanx for the reply.
We didn't use a clutch alinment tool and I reused the DX/D15b2 throw-out bearing.

Just for the achives, I wanted to add that the problem was that the new cv axle I put in on the driver side wasn't fully engauged into the tranny, so the tranny was acting like the driver side wheel was spinning and the passenger side was gripping, and in a "open diff." the wheel that loses traction gets all the power, hense my car not moving...
I removed the tranny, and someone on HMT suggested I check this, then I reallized the one cv kinda fell right out, and the other I have to pry out with the ball-joint popper when I removed the tranny..
Hopefully this will save someone some trouble one day... a 20minute fix costed me 2 weeks of trouble shooting... Stupid me...
